pull out the weeds and choose a good Dom/Master/Top? So many to choose from, how do you select the good from the bad? Instinct? prolonged conversation? blind luck? How do you, as submissibes know how to tend your garden and weed out the bad?

I will give you all one hint, once you find your Dom. Miracle grow does work on the wienier. I swear!

I think they would need the right tools for the job.

First start with a huge shovel, to be able handle all the BS that is flung at them. Then, be sure not to accept his "seed" unless you know all about the growth potential. Be sure to keep the "dirt" on him, so you've got "yourself" covered!

excellent answer and advice FTOPIN

Now, when you save cover him in dirt, I hope you don't mean six foot of it, unless he turns out to be a real bad weed!

Well...if he's REALLY a bad weed, then you pull his long (or short) stem, and RIP him outta your life.

I've only been seriously gardening for three years now, and it works for me.

Well except a short while ago you had great feelings on someone and he turned out not to be the right choice.

Gut feelings, specially for novices, are usually more hormonal than good judgement.

FOr me there's simply no short cut to spending time with someone. For me, a week in real life with someone amounts to abou 6 months online time, and immeasurable quality enhancement.

I cut down immediately based on interests, looks, perspective and intuition. That gets me down to about 3% of potential suitors. After that it's just a matter of talking, seeing life circumstances, and flowing with the energy.

what do you know? You are a newbie!
I do agree that real time amounts for so much more than on-line time.

sometimes an hour or few can change things planned in real life. on occasion, all things such as interest, looks, perspective, and even intuition don't prevent the most promising of beautiful crops from withering on the vine. then it's time to wonder if some diseased insect has ruined the crop and you've to just rip out those stems, plow over the garden, and let the field rest for a long time before growing new anything on the dirt.

I think the question is backwards. It's the Mistress' Garden that I will be cultivating. So I look for a spot where my skills, abilities and interests can be put to good use for a long time. A spot with fertile ground, ample sunlight filtering down and water to irrigate and nurture. I take note of what sorts of things She says She has planted there already or what She desires to grow, and whether my abilities and experience will go well. If She's looking more to cultivate pansies, crossbreeding or hydroponic gardening, I'm probably not what She wants.

I try to determine whether the spot is cleared or has a lot of rocks and stumps to clear out first. How many gardeners or farmhands She's had (and let go) before. I definitely try to get the lay of the land before stripping down for serious work.

Of course I'm always interested for selfish reasons in what sorts of equipment She has on hand and likes to use. In what sorts of crops She likes and how well She uses them. If it's cane She likes to raise, whether She can create a few parallel lines of furrows in the back 40.

Can't say as I know much about the use of Miracle Grow, but if She likes it, frequent deep spade work is always effective or if she prefers, getting down on my hands and knees and careful attention to and tending of the spots She wants taken care of is what I rely on to keep my position.

I can't answer as a submissibe, but as a submissive I choose all the people in my life based on the same criteria. Spend as much time as it takes to get a true sense of their ethical fibre, and their ability to enhance my life and my ability to enhance theirs.

All those qualities that make someone a loved and trusted friend make a good dominant as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't happen overnight. There are no shortcuts to this process.

It takes time spent in each other's lives. It takes observation and instinct, and a little of those wonderful things called experience and wisdom.

Cin

Hmm, looking for another for your stable?

You pursue your relationship as if it were a vanilla one. If you have thing's in common. Can you communicate well together? Same passions in life?
Do you have at least a few of the same kinks? If all mesh's together nicely you give it a try. In time you will grow closer, your kink's will become at one with one another.
