ORIGINAL: PeonForHer I heard that Harry Houdini used any number of tricks, Akasha. He could dislocate his arms (legend has it) to get out of straitjackets and use various almost hypnotic tricks to get his 'captors' to believe he was tightly bound or shackled when he wasn't.. He'd keep pins in his mouth or in his nostrils and even under his eyelids (likely, other orifices, too). And he also used to break into venues before the event to hide various implements to help him get out later. I doubt if many coppers, or dominas, could hold even a good amateur escapologist. I know lots about Houdini. Read tons about him when I was..well, young, let's say. The Tony Curtis movie version..urgh, it still has some parts in it, subtle, that push certain buttons. By far, the best Houdini movie was the one on TNT though with Jonathan,...whatshisname, who was in "That Thing You Do." They gagged *that* Houdini when they tossed him the jail cell. Like that. I thought I had seen EVERY houdini movie known to man and have been whining that Johnny Depp needs to do a Houdini remake, or SOMEONE hot...and low and behold, on a recent flight across country what was on the movie on the plane? Some....straight-to-dvd (?) film with Guy Pearce as Houdini and Catherine Zeta Jones, I believe. The movie wasn't very good, but I will take Guy Pearce upside down in a straitjacket any day. And I have emailed *quite* a few "escapologists" to suggest they need to allow a real expert in restraints (ie, a dominatrix) take a crack at them... yum! Akasha
