Just as an aside....did anyone notice who Baclay Tagg was ponying Anak Nakal with at Belmont?

peterK50 -> RE: poor big brown (6/10/2008 2:11:29 AM)

It was Funny Cide.

Peter, Funny Cide must be everyones dream come true.

Heres a triple crown question that i dont know off the top of my head. Which two legs have been most commonly won by the same horse ?  It seems to me that its mostly The Kentucky Derby and then either or ?

GT thanks for the update on Big Brown.

Gwyn, i said before about speed being the be all and end all. Hopefully the UK dont follow the French route of shortening Classic races.

Gwen, just an aside..... Man O War sired the great Battleship, the first American Bred/owned Aintree Grand national winner, over 4 & 1/2 miles.

I tried to google it to answer your question and thought I had it wrong.  I took the easier method of answering and remained quiet.

Funny Cide is a gelding & cannot breed so he has the job of training-mate. If a horse wins two out of three legs of the triple crown is is usally Kentucky Derby & The Preakness. The Belmont is the longest at a mile & a half. Oddly it was lengthened from a mile & 3/8.
