Vendaval -> RE: What is Your version of Hell? (6/8/2008 12:33:22 AM)

Being on a long flight stuck between members of a family who cannot control their unmentionables.  One is screaming and throwing a fit in front of me and one is behind me whining and kicking the back of the seat....all the damn way! [sm=hissyfit.gif]

slaveboyforyou -> RE: What is Your version of Hell? (6/8/2008 3:52:21 AM)

I do actually believe in Hell.  I don't think of it as a burning, subterreanean world where demons poke at you with pitchforks.  I think of it simply as death.  It's removal from existence.  It's God's way of putting the evil out of their misery.  To put it in Judeo-Christian terminology, they are literally blotted out of the book of life.

I do believe in an afterlife, and I have to believe that people like Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Ted Bundy face some kind of retribution for their deeds.  But I do believe in a Creator, and I think it is arrogant to believe any human would be more merciful than an omnipotent being.  I believe God puts evil people down like rabid dogs.  A literal, eternal existence of misery and pain is not the punishment a merciful God would give to even the most vile of humanity.

FullCircle -> RE: What is Your version of Hell? (6/8/2008 5:12:17 AM)

That isn't by definition a human version of hell then is it? So therefore hell doesn't exist for you because hell is described as a place of torment.

NorthernGent -> RE: What is Your version of Hell? (6/8/2008 5:48:13 AM)

'Don't have one, because in the event it gets too much, I'll close the door, shut out the world and entertain myself.

But, the closest I can think is when the day comes where the human species is reduced to no more than a walking, talking spin machine.

I can see where most folks agree about Pol Pot, etc. being evil; however, what about folks from non-Christian religions?  There are folks out there who believe that even righteous folks from other religions will still go to hell.

My hell would be a world in which all the men say "yes dear, whatever you wish."

Irishknight -> RE: What is Your version of Hell? (6/8/2008 8:00:50 AM)

If we are being serious about it, I believe that we form our own afterlife.  If you believe in hell and you earn it ... too bad so sad.  My religion states that I have to be able to justify my actions at my judgement.  If I kill someone, it had better be for a damned better reason than "I felt like it."

Billster -> RE: What is Your version of Hell? (6/8/2008 8:37:50 AM)

Bondage.com and Alt.com come close.

My version of Hell is a large bottomless pit with every pile of shit person who ever existed is in it.  I stand at the brink of this pit and kick those that try to escape in the face.  I laugh as I watch them fall.  Everynow and then I jump in, telling my fist,  "These are the assholes I was telling you about!"  Loads of fun!

That sounds like someone else's hell but your heaven.

Can I help?  It does sound like fun.

Yes "I felt like it" is not an adequate reason. I find "He Pissed Me Off" to be much better... [:D] Is that litter fucker firing at me? Oh hell no, that just pisses me off... LOL

It always seems to piss me off when someone shoots at me.  Funny that it affects you the same way.  I thought it was just me.

Sure can.  My knuckles start to bleed after a while, and it gets exhausting flapping my arms to get back out of that pit.

at one time in my life...el paso texas is what i imagine hell must be like...

having an older sister die when you are only 14 and thinking your hateful hurtful words caused her death and dealing with that trauma for years and seeing the pain it caused my parents and the hell of being left behind

at times..i think life is an experiment in hell....it is the trials and tribulations of life and learning to love, let go of the fear and rising above what life tends to throw your way.

velvetears -> RE: What is Your version of Hell? (6/8/2008 9:45:22 AM)

Hell is being trapped by your own self imposed limitations and not being able to see past the obvious, think outside the box, or reach out in your own despair and see that others suffer equal if not more than you.  Hell is a state of mind - a life condition. Spinning your wheels and going nowhere.  There is no love in hell only constant attempts at feeding the soul like a cup with no bottom - it will always feel empty and never understand why.

My version of Hell:

Having had exactly 100 dollars in my pocket at 4:47 p.m., having given the entire sawbuck to a homeless man at 4:48 p.m. who clearly needed it, and then seeing Pamela Anderson sitting in my driveway at 5:07 p.m., holding a sign saying "Gris...you STUD!!!!!....I want you so bad...I've always wanted you....I'll blow you AND stay with you for 6 months....NEKKID....for 5 bucks".

(That would be hell).

But if you had a C-note at 4:47 and then gave away a sawbuck at 4:48, you would still have $90.00 left over.

Perhaps not figuring that out until Pamela turned old and crusty would be hell... [;)]

Besides there are two other issues at play #1 Pam Anderson has Hep so fucking her could kill you... and #2 Why would anyone want to give a homeless person anything except a swift kick in the ass and an admonition to get themselves a job...

#1 - She has Hep C - It't not transmitted through sex. my brother had it and his wife never got it and they have three healthy beautiful girls.

#2 - Not all homeless are lazy bums out of work  not willing to help themselves.  Lot of the homeless are mentally ill people who go off their meds and have no family to look after them.
