Interesting question. I've never played with a male, but I've witnesses plenty of male top/male bottom scenes.
I agree it's often a top/bottom thing. I wouldn't say I would turn down a male slave if he wanted me to dominate him. Being male, I certainly know what the equipment's like, what happens if you torture cock and balls.
I suspect that if a man is seeking another male to dominate, it's not unlikely there is some interest in being with a man, or at the very least not an aversion. I think it depends in part on who is doing the seeking.
I understand that power exchange is much of the basis of WIITWD, but overcoming the cultural pressure not to be or act gay is a barrier that some would not cross.
As in any play, make sure everyone takes health precautions.
