Several years ago a psychologist in Meridian, Mississippi got into trouble for spanking and having an affair with one of his female patients.

Having an affair with a patient is unethical, inappropriate, will result in loss of licensure, and probably subject the person to criminal charges being filed against them.

Dont try that at home.

The spanking was probably latched onto by the media since they dont get it at home and want to make that into the Big Issue, which it is not.

I think is about time for them to remove it from their books. It is like I always say the only way to be sane is insane for the whole world is nuts.

I'm pretty ok with how it is in the books now, personally. If it interferes with someone's ability to live their day to day life, then that person likely needs some help. Often you need the label in order to get insurance coverage for therapy, etc.

Interesting article, however isn't NARTH devoted to "curing" homosexuality? I found it difficult to read the entire article, as I couldn't keep myself from thinking about how this article supports their agenda. I know there are quite a few credible psychology websites out there that discuss sadomasochism and make it very clear that it is not a mental illness. I'll do more research and post the sites for ya's.

There are many out there Thorns
and for every opinion there is a site.

I think the bottom line is this
For those of Us whom concider Our selfs S/M
am I crazy ? Would be the first question of self
NO of course not or at least not to My self..
is it ok for Me to think, feel, act, react to the
feelings I have that are not of the norm to society?
WHY OF COURSE! Wouldent life and living be bland
if everyone was the same? There are places in the world
where a Sadistic Person is reveared for their practices.
There are places in the world where Sadistic Persons are
physically tormented and killed for their practices.
Societys a funny thing but one thing that makes the US stand
out is that if You dont like the Society thats set as the main
one You can always create Your Own freely. Thats what Free
Societys about.
