Maya2001 -> Used Geo Metro prices skyrocketting (6/10/2008 6:44:28 PM)
I heard recently one Geo Metro sold for $7,000 on ebay , now dealers are scrambling to buy them up So I took a look on ebay and noted the bidding is hot right now noted one 93 convertible is currently at $6700 with still 2 1/2 days to go ... a 96 in florida with 3 days bidding is $3550.
Maybe GM needs to pick up the metro dies from the ingersoll plant and put them to use again

One of My UM's had one a few years back. I remember the cringe I felt as it drove into the driveway, and the double cringe when I noticed all the recient body work. I was sure it was a death trap. This UM tanuted Me for over 3 years as she drove it. I dont remember it ever needing more the general maintance. Might be a good thing to dig out those dies and give it another go after all. [;)]

Not only do they get 40-50mpg - But they are very easy to convert/retrofit to an electric-only drive train.
There are ads in both the local newspapers and Craig’s list looking/wanting to purchase them.
