CL logic and reason interjected where none exists rarely helps.....just saying

Probably not....but it still can be great fun.

Besides...if it gets me cupcakes then it most certainly does help![8D]

ahhh because this is a discussion
something cheaters seem to leave out of their options when cheating
but afterwards they have all the answers in the world
again cheaters will tell themselves what they want to hear and do what they want
and credit cheating as the solution not the problem
where i am sharing verbally what i think and then doing want i want, see where the honest commuincation part removes the cheating qualities, thus a need to explain myself

no need for explanations or excuses

Which begs the question of why you seem compelled to explain yourself, if you need neither explanation nor excuse.

Can I wish for cupcakes? [:D][:D][:D]

yes you can...let's have the kind that have chocolate kisses or carmello squares in the middle so they are all melty and messy and...well, i think it might be getting hot in here...

eta:  sorry for the help in the hijack...now, back to your regularly scheduled, self-righteous, judgemental, uppity program.

So many assumptions and generalizations.  Do you have foundation for any of this?

backseatbebe -> RE: Am I the only person here who has been a "cheater?" (6/12/2008 4:44:29 PM)

seriously a little anal are we

let me correct myself then
in MY opinion i call BULLSHIT

better?!?!!?
does that change everything now
because i didnt state it was my opinion in the first place?!!?!?!
funny people might have thought i was speaking for everyone if you didnt have me clear that up

yes it matters
what makes your opinion right?!!?!?!

#1 bullshit

Incorrect, but no matter.

That was not opnion, but a statement of fact.  Hence why the misstatement is deemed "incorrect".  Opinions, being subjective, cannot be "correct" or "incorrect", merely qualified in various forms ("valid", "reasoned", "informed", "sound", et cetera).

backseatbebe -> RE: Am I the only person here who has been a "cheater?" (6/12/2008 4:50:29 PM)

cheating:
transitive verb

  • to deal with dishonestly for one's own gain; defraud; swindle
  • to deprive of or destroy the effect of through error or ignorance
seems you and i have different defintions of cheating
cause my fondation is the definition of cheating

I cheated, once, and it was *mumbles*  twentysomethingoddyearsago.

After seing the fallout, recriminations and just general crap that went with it, I can safely say I have never done it since ..... not to say there haven't been times when the thought crossed my mind. Is "cheating" inherrently wrong ....... not in some circumstances .... but those are few and far between in my books and won't be enough of a reason for me personally to do it.

WOW ...I am speechless, but better that than clueless...okay i was going to stay out of this for reasons that can be found on a much earlier thread...but this is too much way too much..a personal perspective if I may, years ago I discovered my ex in an affair, was I hurt a resounding yes.Did i bear some responsibility for her being in that affair also sadly a resounding yes.Could she have reacted differently to my sins(those are not germaine to the point so I will not engage if self abuse by listing them)also a resounding yes....yet given my hurt give the pain she caused me given the end of a dead marriage...Does the woman I freely married and who bore  my only son morph into a lying cheating bitch....well it took me a while and some distance but from that distance I would answer no .She was a woman in an unhappy mariage that from my point of view made a bad decision she is not and really never was a person to be scorned or villified ,she is  my ex-wife and most important to me the Mother of my child...

I shall clarify.  My original statement that you termed bullshit was the statement of fact.  Your denigration of that, which had the appearance of refutation, is thus factually incorrect.

  • Heh then by your own definition I didn't cheat because if he had asked I would have told him, and since we didn't sleep/touch there was no deprivation.    We both gained and there was no error.

Look we get that in your world there is only black and white. That's okay. Just don't assume that every world is the same way. You really know nothing about me or my life.

That foundation does not explain the assumptions and generalizations you made regarding cheaters.

backseatbebe -> RE: Am I the only person here who has been a "cheater?" (6/12/2008 5:01:13 PM)

lying and cheating doesnt make someone a bitch
it just is wrong to do and yes a bad decision to make, and to me there is no reason for it (bad marrigae, sexless marriage, abusive marriage, whatever excuse).
the OP asked if i saw absoluty no reasons one should cheat, and again i will say i think there is never a good reason to cheat on someone
is it hurtful yes, are there other options yes, is the person still a person afterwards yes but not someone i would trust

I'm really surprised that it took until the fifth page to start getting judgemental and somewhat nasty.
