noodge is a cute name.

i can tell today is going to be fun, only had 2  hours of sleep this morning, and i have to head out for the day...

fun fun fun...

no, my neighbor didn't annoy me, i just have that sleeping disorder that keeps me awake, and if i don't head to bed when i start getting tired, i'll never sleep... only i didn't get tired until close to 5am this morning, and i woke up at 7:15am. if i go to bed while i'm not tired, then i'll just end up laying there with my eyes closed feeling the beat of my heart, and i'll toss n turn - never going to sleep. oh well. life happens.

but i did remember some other kind of annoyance i dislike...

growing up my mother would yell at me for doing something wrong... then she'd ask "WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM, SPEAK TO ME!!!" then when i started to answer she'd interrupt me with a belting sting to my butt... "SHUT UP!" and as i've grown up, i've seen other parents do that... where the parents ask what the kid was thinking, and then before the kid could finish answering, the mother would tell them to be quiet. did anyone else on here go through that?

i can take the laptop with me to the center - only problem is because it's a public place, when i latch on to the boss lady's wifi, i can't go into this bdsm site for the "incase" someone walks by and sees material that isn't christian-like... LOL the clients there aren't even allowed to watch rated R or NR movies. ONLY PG and PG13 movies, anything worse, they won't show the movie - but yet, they'll leave the news channel on while it talks about people dying.

laters all, my ride will be here soon, and i need to be out there.

bscootin...

This doesn't work in stores, but when I get one of those phone calls at dinner time, you know, do I want to change phone companies? etc, I ask if they would mind holding for one second. I just put the phone down and go about my business. Some die hards keep waiting, so if you check after 30 minutes and they're still holding, apologise and say you won't be much longer and go watch tv. They eventually give up[:)]

So, having worked at a call center (inbound, thank god), I'd put my feet up and read. I get paid whether I'm on hold or not.

I don't know how commen they are in the rest of the world, but at the campus I go to, there are power door openers with a great big wheelchair on the button. And I HATE it when people perfectly capable of opening the door and walking through use it. No wheelchair, crutches, or large boxes in hand, just too lazy to open the door.

During some of his hysterics I would simply stand him up (he throw himself on the floor during these fits) walk out and take him home. Yet at other times I would ignore his fit and have him trailing me through the grocery store crying and demanding I buy him whatever he was fixated upon.

These where the times I could not leave and simply had to deal with the embarrassment of a child doing everything in his power to try and force me to relent. Since I had said “NO” I was in control and would not be manipulated by a child. Prior to this child I had an older boy that was easy and followed each rule put in place and was a content child.

ok lady. I'm going to give you a dose of reallity.  In this situation you're speaking of, you're not in control.  Your kid is.  He's doing something that is unacceptable, and you're telling him that it's fine for him to do because you won't punish him.
I know that it's not Politically correct, but I believe that when a child gets out of line, there's nothing like a good swat on the legs and a firm tone to get them back in line.  If you do this when they are young, you don't have to do it when they get older.

I have two Nephews who I care for like my own kids, and I took what I saw worked of my mother and father's disciplining of me, and discarded what didn't.  Now I was a hard headed child, but even the best child needs to be taught sometimes that certain behaviors aren't acceptable.  This means:  If my nephew tyson decides that he wants to run around the table in the restaurant after I've told him to sit down and eat his food, He will be punished(At this point by grounding of some sort).  If he continues, the punishment will grow more harsh(Like a spanking).  Once he's recieved one or two smacks on his butt, he stops what he was doing, because he gets it suddenly!  It all makes sense!  This action won't be tolerated.
This is a situation where I, the adult in charge, am in fact in charge.  I make a point of not being excessive, but I will discipline my nephews if they can't act right, not just stand there and look embarassed.

And people who hijack threads. Don't like them either...
