For me, it's not the veins themselves that are the attraction. It's the translucent white skin that's pale enough to show the faint blue of veins underneath. Wrists/forearms, thighs, and throats are particular favorites. The mental image of the little whimpering moans they make and the faint taste of copper as I'm sinking my teeth into that lovely white flesh is...um...yeah...

I can tell you why veins are attractive to me-- I generally associate predominant(sp) veins with muscle. I used to want to be the next Corey Everson and I associated with weight lifters all who had bulging muscles and veins so for me the two go hand in hand.

Veins... not for me, but I can definitely see how they might be appealing. As for my unique likes... I really like the nape of the neck, especially on someone with short hair (not in a vampire sort of way, as I am waaaay too squeamish with blood).

Absolutely not!!!

However, it's possible to taste the blood in the capillaries just under the skin if the person's pulse is elevated, as it tends to be when one is aroused, and your sense of taste is acute enough.

Wow now there is a name from the past Cory is an awesome person "atleast she was when i met her back in the late 80's" a real pioneer .And i also think your correct you can not see veins of that type with out a higher fitness level and low body fat %.As one who trained at muscle beach for a year for inspiration , i can also relate to your reasons why .

Very true. Human teeth are not made to pierce flesh cleanly, they're made to tear. Tearing equals scarring and biting increases the risk of infection. We're careful of our donors because healthy, sane ones are few and far between.

If you want to practice safer bloodletting, including pre- and post-care www.real-vampires.moonfruit.com and www.sanguinarius.org are good sites to explore for tips. Disposable scalpels and diabetic lancets are the best implements. Blades for straight razors can work if you're careful. Xacto brand and hunting knives are not recommended for reasons of sanitation and control. Hypodermic needles should only be used by trained medical professionals.

ok.. this was an easy one for me.. as i love blood play in general, yes i love the sight of a vein.. makes me wanna feel it with my teeth, my tongue.. not to bite, mind you.. just that the mouth is so much more sensitve than the fingers..to feel the flow of life under my tongue and know that, were it not for my own control, that i could stop that flow..

i've wondered if i lean more towards the herto because i notice it and it turns me on a lot more with men than with the ladies. my security in my attraction with both genders has helped me to realize that i'm attracted to different genders for different reasons, and it's a reasonable differentiation, i think.

my clinical training and veinpuncture certification do not bring out these sexualized feelings. i've enough experience to know it is a sexual aspect that does not cross over into my ability to assess or access a vein or artery, but when a really attractive gent just my type needs it done i might blush thinking improper thoughts. ladies just my type don't seem to get me as flustered in a clinical setting where sexual thoughts are not appropriate but occassionally unavoidable.

so, to answer your very poignant query, it is not just the veins, it is definately who is sporting them as well. i hope it indulges you satisfactorily.
