'Blazing Saddles' was on again last night...gotta be my all-time favorite comedy.  But i found i couldn't 'get into it'.  i've probably seen it 100x and i guess i've just worn it out. i know every line of dialogue and every scene by heart, and i guess it's lost it's entertainment value for me.  *Sighs*

A/anyone else ever 'wear out' a favorite movie?

Laffs.  No, Stusmobile, i didn't mean 'wearing out' a movie by playing it till Yr copy was damaged.

What i meant was watching it so many times You just couldn't sit through it again.

i don't think i've worn out 'The Blues Brothers' yet, LOL.  Terrific movie.

Animal House.  Wasn't really MY favorite, but it was hubby's.   My brother's favorit was Top Gun.  He lived with us for a short time after his divorce and he watched it constantly.  Over a year after he got his act together, we were out of town during a freek blizzard which knocked out power in half our city.  When we came home, we had that distinct "someone's been in the house" feeling.  We looked around, and even though some things were out of place, nothing was missing.  My husband opened the VCR and out popped Top Gun.  He held it up and we both said "Jim!"   Apparently, he brought his 'new' family over to use our hot water & electricity for a bit.  He left evidence of his visit.

No invocation of Top Gun is complete without Quentin Tarantino's deconstruction.
