I've never been able to understand wanting to go to a restaurant because the chef is on TV.  (There are restaurants I enjoy whose chefs have become famous, but their fame came from their cooking, not because they were an entertaining personality.)

I am annoyed by the proliferation of high-end chains.  While logically I can understand that designing recipes/menus/etc. and training staff to follow your vision is actually an extremely important part of running a kitchen, I still selfishly feel that if the chef is so good, he should be cooking for me personally.

So when you go to Benihana's , you want to talk to Beni?

Actually I enjoy watching Top Chef...I even tried a few of the recieps that you can get on their website.  My thing is the way they judge...they have thrown off a Chef for not following the guide lines and on the next show they keep a chef even though he/she did not follow the guide lines.  This year has had on compliant by many, one chef who was up to be axed seven times made it to the final..

We love Top Chef here, and we're glad Stephanie won the prize.

I do agree with Hippy thou, braised fucking pistachio's & raisins with Lamb?

The judgeing is very inconsistant on the show, and I hate that Collichio (Head Judge) is so passive aggressive, but over all we find the show entertaining, just like Hell's Kitchen & The Next Food Network Star.

Stephanie won the prize but the whole finale was set up to make sure a woman won.
