In fairness holls, the trauma of losing the affections of a dear one and having to switch your sexuality in reaction is pretty fierce.

Skewering yourself and nearly dying? Every day stuff.

Ok, we got some edu-makated drinkers around this here parts so I gots a question.  Last night I was at a local winery's little shop and they had something new I've never seen before. "Unoaked Chardonnay" wine. I was flabbergasted. If you drink chardonnary wine, you'll know that the buttery taste of it comes from the aging in the oak. The gentleman working said that it's something fairly new in the last year, that they had gotten some requests and the winery started it just within the last year. It's some new "fashion".

Has anyone else heard about this or know where this started? Have you tried this "unoaked chardonnay" and if so, how the hell does it taste? I'm kinda curious on this one but not enough to go buy some. [&:]

dunno...but in an unselfish effort to turn your ass into an edumactaed subly wimmin i plan to run right out and get a jug or two.

LadyRainfire -> RE: Sundowner (8/2/2008 11:33:04 AM)

[&:]  I'd be careful... I love chardonnay but unoaked? I dunno that I'd be brave enough to try it. [X(]

Is that the same as unwooded chardonnay?  I have seen that around for the last few years and a number of my friends drink that.

I think you'll find it's been around a while Rain (coughs; like 15 years) - and hey - exciting bit for perverts - it's sometimes called naked Chardonnay!

The idea is simply to let the grape itself come through rather than adding the oak flavour.

Mind you if, like me, you smoke heavily then any subtlety of flavour is a toughie to catch.

(But then being angelic I only drink water).

*tacklefucks peaches*

er ... you may recall that, purely as a kindness to bs you understand I have been known to allow alcoholic fizzy stuff to pass my and her lips. If you know what I mean.

(And I'm awfully sorry about the fucking thing - blame Greeds for starting that one)

Hey, I'm only saying what the guy told me last night, don't blame me. I ain't never seen it before so maybe it's old news there but not here. Trust you to find the perverted thing in it.... [8|]

I am so sorry, my friend. When I read that edit, three words popped unbidden to mind:

game, set, match

That made the top of my "best of" list.

*giggles and writhes seductively under the tacklefuck*

OOO!!! i didn't read that before, and it sounds delightful!

(I'm not sorry about the tacklefuck, and I blame Greedy that she finally taught someone to do it RIGHT)

Oh no blame at all Rain - I'm impressed by your gentle restraint; anyone else, shacked up with Lumus, would have turned seriously to drink ages ago.   [sm=smile.gif]

Ah SMB - we stopped the competitive thingy a while back - something about breaking a butterfly on a wheel?
