Hey ann!   {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Also in the Greenville area is a group called KEY (Keeping Everyone Yearning) it's a  newer group (about 2 years old), and geared more toward TNG/newbies.  I like some of the folks invovled.. not so much others.  But like any group, it may or may not be a flavor that suits.  :)

Good to see you hon!

Never thought about this area.
Now this gives me even more of a reason to work with that cute and slightly submissive female EMT that I have been talking with late at night when she stops to get donuts for the ones at the station.

Thanks for the added reason to get to know her better.

To the OP:

According to the location listed on your profile, you have 2 BDSM real time groups in your backyard:  SC-LOCK and KEY.

I've not yet attended either of these groups, but I hear good things about them.

I don't think I've yet to attend a social in the community where there wasn't at least ONE qualified medical staff person at the event.  There are many nurses in the BDSM community here in NC.  Also, most groups utilize DMs (Dungeon Monitors) who patrol the areas where play is happening to watch out for, and be available for, emergencies or to stop unsafe play.  Those who are certified in CPR and First Aid are certainly an asset to the group.

If you're interested in real time activities, I'd suggest getting in touch with the groups in your area and attending some munches, demos/presentations, and play parties/socials.  In addition to SC-LOCK and KEY, there is T3WD in Columbia, SC, and, as has been mentioned, CAPEX in Charlotte, Hickory Playground, and Asheville Circle.

At the few Event/Cons I have been at there is usually a team or 3 attached to the play spaces in case of emergency. They are usually EMTS, Paramedics, Nurses or Doctors who are also into this Life Choice and volunteer their time for safety's sake.

At the same time I am a firm advocate for people who live ANY Life Choice including vanilla take a course with the Red Cross for CPR and First Aid. Top, Bottom, Master, Sub.. doesn't matter, if Master hits the floor unconscious I want to know what to do to sustain his life until the professionals get there....and the same goes for anyone we play with. You need to know what to do in an emergency..anyones, not just your own and can supply that aid while others stand around scratching their butts and gawking. Letting the DM or Owner of a club know this when you arrive is a good thing just in case.

Take a Course..Be Proactive, Not Reactive, Don't wait until it is too late to save a life, to learn.

To the OP.

Medical support = first aid kit in most places.

Also, it seems about 1/3 of the submissives are nurses by trade anyway.

Haha, ain't that the truth. Also, I'll bring up one more point. A professional in an official capacity as a nurse, EMT, PA or physican at an event could be jeopardizing his or her license if something happened. There would be many questions and liabilities to deal with. State medical boards would have a bureaucratic orgasm investigating.

"Uh, 911 - we have a situation.  I was whipping my sub too hard, and she is bleeding profusely.  Can you send someone to help???"

JK!  We had a couple visit us, and they brought a 1st Aid kit.  I thought that was interesting.  I would be surprised if there was not a nurse or a doc in the dungeon at the same time.  :)  But I think that is a very good questions the OP posted.  :)
