The whole money thing has been beaten to death elsewhere, so I won't go into it again. And I have been bitched at because I demand that the person I am with buy my iced teas and club fees while we are out!

Sincere dominants are interested in a person's submission. Do they have the necessary qualities to please? Money is a very secondary consideration, IMO. Yes, I love gifts, but I certainly do not REQUIRE them, and I wouldn't dream of setting a dollar amount on something. Actually, as in a vanilla relationship, I am chary to accept expensive things from someone who is not very well off (ie, some folks are Russell Stover, some are Godiva----I am not going to sneer at the lower priced gift, if it matches the person's income/sophistication level).

One thing I do expect subs to pay for is unusual or single use items. If a male is into chastity, HE is buying the device. Want electro play? Feel free to get me a violet wand.

Everyone's most important asset is their TIME. Make the time you spend with this lady (and any others you see in the future) WORTHWHILE. Pay attention to HER, listen to her when she talks, be entertaining and forthcoming.

i cannot stress enough what ladyhibiscus said about paying attention to her. too many times i have seen applicants, and mostly it's the guys i'm sorry to say, treat a domme like thier own personal walking porn queen. we are not your fantasy given life. we are flesh and blood women with hearts, minds and bodies that belong to us and us alone. apporch her in a manner that repects her as a woman above all else.

on the gift question, token gifts are a plus. a flower (maybe something a little exotic, like an orchid) or a small (i.e. not a two pound box) selection of chocolates are both classic and classy. but if you know something about her and can bring her a gift that shows you have been paying attention, you might score more points.
