Last night I realized my ball gag not only tastes bad, but that contact with the ball over a couple of minutes actually makes my tongue and lips burn. The burn continues as long as there's contact, remains for a few minutes after contact stops, then goes away gradually.

Are all ball gags like this?

The gag doesn't say what it's made of or where it's from - rubber or latex I would guess. I don't typically have any allergies, and there's no swelling involved or reaction on the roof of my mouth, so I don't think it's an allergy.

I actually like unpleasant gags, so I wouldn't mind, just don't want to be sucking on something that's poisoning me...

Yikes, shiggly! It's impossible to say what's in the gag, but anything that makes your lips burn is potentially really bad news. The chemicals in plastics are often cancer-causing. Since you don't know what's in it, protect yourself!

If you like the gag, try wrapping the ball with a rubber glove. If you like a nasty taste, coat the glove with something like castor oil.

I'd throw the damn thing away and find one made of silicone or something just as inert.

What you are tasting are plasticizers, added to the ball to keep it soft, and prevent it from cracking. I have no idea on the toxicity of the stuff- there's a million and four different types, I just know they taste like crap, and burn the back of my throat.

If all else fails, cut the tip of a condom off, slip it over the gag, and poke the ends into the holes of the ball.

I had used one made of a ping pong ball with a hole drilled through it and a lenght of a cord. A good sized super ball can also be used.
Guess this has given my very low cost ways of getting by away...

I hate gags. I had one made for me out of a whiffle ball. I can breath, it doesn't freak me out, and it just tastes like plastic.

The problem with super-balls is that they'll fall apart when you bite them, and then your bottom will have chunks of fun-colored plastic blocking her throat.

Silicone ballgags are NOT very expensive. Flashington Ball Gags (http://www.flashington.com/Flashington_s_Ball_Gags/flashington_s_ball_gags.html) are reasonably priced, especially if you buy one of each size or group in with friends, AND they slip off of the strap so you can easily sanitize.

Slipping off + Easily sanitized = one gag for multiple partners.
