i also left out the whole process of finding it on display at the market, proding it for tenderness, trying to haggle with the grocer because it's not worth that much, putting it in the trunk of the car for the ride home...

My mother-in-law grew up on a farm and to this day my husband swears they had to pat her down for forks and knives before letting her out into the pasture....

Interesting... most people go for #6, but #8 is a good one, too. My personal favorite is the last step. "Hey, everybody! Gather round! I want you all to take a moment to just look at, smell, prod, and appreciate this meat. I went through a lot of trouble to trai- I mean, get it ready because you're all such good people. Now that I've had my say and everyone is drooling I'll step out of the way so that you can feast."
