LuckyAlbatross -> Amusing first time meeting (11/3/2005 6:17:15 AM)

Our local bdsm group has their education meetings every other Wednesday. I'm the chair of the group and with our annual business meeting coming up this month, I've been making an effort to attend each of them to make sure everything is leading up smoothly and keep tabs on contributors and such. Last night during the break, I go outside to chat with people and there is a gentleman sitting on a bench around some people I know. After talking a few moments, I made my way to him and introduced myself. We shook hands and I made an immediate mental checkmark as he used the "little too long, little too hard extra squeeze" method. I asked if this was his first meeting as I hadn't seen him before. He lookd at me askance and said quite boldly that he had been attending for the 5 years the group had been in existence. I put on a surprised voice and said that was weird since I'd been coming regularly for over a year but was glad that we had a chance to meet eachother now. We chat a few seconds more and he pops out asking "So am I a dom or a sub?" Micro-second of stunned silence within myself. Swift thinking of "Someone is actually ASKING this?" And I smile to him and say "Well that's an intriguing and annoying question to answer," in hopes that I can laugh it off and NOT actually have to continue this ridiculous conversation. However, he was completely serious and continued to look at me. So I took a few seconds to ponder, seriously wondering more what the answer I SHOULD tell him versus the answer I WANTED to give him. Luckily one of my friends piped up and said "Well, if you take his suit into account, I'd guess a dom." I said "Yeah that makes sense, but his eyes could say bottom." He says gruffly "You couldn't be more wrong, I'm totally dominant." I say "Ah, ok that's cool. I orient myself as a bisexualpolyamorousslavetop" (all in one breath to be amusing)." He points over to my partner and says "Yeah you were bossing him around earlier." This raises my hackles because dominance to me is a lot more than bossing people around and I felt his tone and choice of words was a zinger to me. But I smile and say "Yeah but he bossed me around last weekend so it works out." The group of us chat again and a few seconds after he stands up swiftly, says gruffly again "I'm going inside" and leaves. Above all this, he was wearing light brown/red shoes with a royal blue suit. I couldn't believe someone actually ASKED that question...
