LOL.......

IronBear, I as well as many others know that this is really cordage, but can you imagine the lake of respect you would recieve if you were to note the fact that you were a cordage expert? I believe you would get responses along the line of why aren't you applying for work at Macy's or the Post Office during the holidays, instead of breaking in on rope bondage forums?

G'day Ron mate.

Haven't you heard the cry of "Tie me kangaroo down sport?" Now as far as I know neither the UA or Aussie Post Office has that in their job description and Macy's didn't know what a kangaroo was. So I did apply to the South Pole for Christmas work in wrangling the "Six White Boomers" for the Aussie run. Now if you have ever wrestled a Boomer and harnesed one with cordage you'd know what "rope" bondage was really about. ~Chuckles and tosses Ron another Fosters~

So, especially for someone new to using rope, just getting treated rope is probably the easiest? And maybe get one untreated and try out these homemade treatments?

In general, how much of a mark-up does a treated rope usually get over an untreated?

mnottertail -> RE: Rope Bondage (11/6/2005 10:06:14 AM)

I havent looked lately, but as someone said earlier, it is labor intensive so I imagine alot. But of course look at the sites posted earlier and you will be able to stare and compare.

Another way to go while investigating quality hemp, I dont know where islip is off hand (on the island?) but if you go to town, look for cordage and rope places (especially dealing with horses) that cotton stuff is pretty great guns too. (Not for suspension). Hell it is probably easier for you to find hemp than anybody, go to paddles and ask around or see a demo and you will get alot of info from enthusiasts who can turn you on to their favorite places, most of which have already been listed right in this thread, these are most of the biggies.
!!!!!!!!!!!!! Note manila and sisal are often referred to as hemp even by manufacturers and wholesalers!!!!!!!!!!!

It just aint so...........dont buy that scrap unless you really know what you are doing and like that crap.

Real jute aint so bad.

Ron.

Now that's something not so often heard, but I totally agree. For many things, including making bondage pictures, my girlfriend and I tend to prefer jute to hemp, as it is a little rougher and shows better on the pics.

We have a boating store in town, so I figured I'd check that place out to see what they have.

Also, on another note, I was looking through the websites and checked out Karada (which I saw mnottertail mention before). I saw two different variations, which is probably common, and was just wondering input from people who've tried it. The difference between the two was in one, there were knots tied in the back just off the spine, and in another the rope was just continuously wrapped around. Just wondering which way people found to be better.

mnottertail -> RE: Rope Bondage (11/6/2005 3:38:39 PM)

if you want to jerk the rope to bite the ensconced a bit (read pain) the ones without the overhand knots work better. however note that the square knot at the back of the neck is still there to prevent your choking the bitch to death........after all this is not Hojojutsu.

Get some bag balm. You will need it Later.

run a piece of rope over your forearm real fast. That's burn. don't get the ones that burn real bad and bite real hard.

Because there is something incredibly erotic about the smell of good rope (hemp...mmmm) and the tactile sensations that go along with rope bondage. Hemp rope 'grabs' skin like nylon can't. Cotton is nice, too, but hemp is completely yummy. The vibration of rope against rope when pulling it through to create a knot is like a lover's caress. The low 'ziiiiip' sound it makes feeds the senses. Being pulled back and forth as the Top places knots, binds limbs or hair is like swaying in a warm breeze. Harder yanks on the rope provide delicious contrast. The process is a complete sensory experience - sight (or lack thereof if blindfolded), sound, smell and even taste (I've had Tops place a coil of rope in my mouth as a gag - hemp doesn't taste as bad as I thought it would). It's amazing how a rope session with someone who is fairly skilled can be a fantastic experience. Watching an hour (or more) long rope scene is about as exciting as watching paint dry for me. Being in an hour long (or more) rope scene is heaven.

so amazingly true. there is something so incredibly freeing about rope bondage that is like nothing else i've experienced. the sounds, the smells, the feeling of the rope being wound and tied, how it grips the skin or seemingly lightly dances upon it is absolutely wonderful. there is something in rope that isn't in any other 'thing' that i know of. okay, my eyes are starting to roll back in my head, so i'll stop now before i pass out.

Hi there! There's a great site I like and have leaerned a lot from located at http://ms.ha.md.us/~tammad/over21/bondage/ Good luck!

slavejali -> RE: Rope Bondage (11/13/2005 1:35:51 PM)

Master isnt really into rope bondage, not as far as shibari goes, he says, he isnt interested in taking 2 hours to tie someone up, take a photo then spend two hours untying them. Im not sure if he was saying that himself or he was agreeing with something Jay wiseman said and one of his bondage seminars..but there are some amazing knots to use...quick release knots etc...i liked the suggestion of looking at Scouting sites...i actually love watching Master fashion knots and loops ready to put on me..guess it all depends on what you want to use bondage for.

Somehow, I wouldn't quite be into that too.

Fortunately, it doesn't have to take two hours to tie someone in a decent shibari-style bondage and it doesn't have to take two hours to untie them. And if you tie really well, the time in between is long enough to sit back, relax, drink a cup of coffee and let the ropes do all the hard work for you. That is, of course, if you want to relax. You can also use that time to do all sorts of nasty things or simply have sex just the way you want.

A respectable Karada can be tied in less than 2 minutes, never timed it but 8 overhands and two squares, and you could skip the overhands.

From there tie you to a bed; lets say, another 2 or 3 minutes and other than real experienced eels, you would be stuck there for the duration.

In my house the coffee maker wouldn't have made the pot yet, and I do not have the remove in the middle of the drip kind so I would be the one waiting.

LOL,

Ron

~sigh~ my battle goes on.

Please click back to the first page of this thread and read my post there. Its number nine.

Scouting knots are *NOT* simple knots. Japanese bondage can theoriticly get by with using zero knots at all. It is much more focused on making layer after layer of coil and ya cant get much simpler than that.

slavejali -> RE: Rope Bondage (11/13/2005 5:25:13 PM)

ok my bad..i was a girl guide hehe...i dont really know what the knots are Masters uses..but they are pretty neat..i will ask Him when he gets home from work *grin*

I feel you brother, it looks complex because so many coils are there but it is not hard to tie for an average Joe.

If you have ever tied your shoes, you can do shibari. In alotta instances tying shoes is more complex.

In Full Agreement With TheHungryTiger,

Ron

Rope can be used to be very decorative but no matter what, enough movement, twitching, and fidgeting will free the person bound by rope alone.

I will guarantee that I can bind someone in such a way that they cannot get lose.

G'day LoD,

Y'know that cute little tie you can use when you have some one hogtied and you run a cord from their tied ankles, loop it avout their throat and tie it off at the ankles? I was shown a new one which I'll try to perfect so I can pass on, but in effect, instead of looping about the throat, you take it over the shoulders and down the front to the nakit genitals. Form noose with the cord and place the noose over the genitalia and tighten it, then bring the cord back up the body and down the back and afix to the bound ankles which are bent upwards along the back..... Just a new twist on a golden oldie and really places a new spin on self torture.
