Casie -> H.R. 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act (6/19/2008 5:17:37 PM)

Forgive me if that has been posted before. I haven't been around in a bit.
Heres a link to read the bill http://www.opencongress.org/bill/110-h1955/text

This is scary stuff right here. I love how  vague it is.
This is a blatant attack on free speech. It passed congress with 404 yes 6 nay. Are you kidding me? This is my favorite line "The term `homegrown terrorism' means the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives." Notice force does not mean violence. Yay, dictatorship!!! (sarcasm) So what are your thoughts. Shoot.

LOL, that would include me and most of the people I know.
"Come and get me Coppers!"

Didn't mean to be abrupt, I really just ran out of ways to say, 'That's the stupidest f^&*in' bill since the last one...'

jlf1961 -> RE: H.R. 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act (6/19/2008 5:48:13 PM)

Cassie, you forgot the most important term defined in the bill, please look at  the following:

quote:

`
(4) IDEOLOGICALLY BASED VIOLENCE- The term `ideologically based violence' means the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual's political, religious, or social beliefs.

In case you havent figured it out, try the term THOUGHT CRIME.

The bill was introduced earlier this year, by a california democrate who needed republican support for a pet project of his.

This is just the latest of the so-called patriot acts, which established, among other things, secret courts that can issue search warrents that do not have to be given the people when their home or business is searched, hand down indictments without a grandjury,  order suspects held indifinately while the invistigation continues.

And as for a partial list of the 'subversive' and 'radical' groups that would be watched under this bill includes, the American Indian Movement, National Native American Congress, Intradenominational Group for Peace (a bunch of priests and preachers,) and a few other really dangerous people.... none of which have either condoned violence in 30+ years or never condoned violence.

I see where it passed the House.  But I notice the Senate side (S1959) seems to have gone nowhere.  Does anyone know if the Senate bill will get out of committee?

It's okay folks. If it doesn't get through this time they'll just soften you up and dumb you down a little more until they do get it through. Before anyone jumps down my throat this is a generic you.

I'd like to see them try it, I'll go to Washington and single-handedly overthrow the government!
The government had better be carefull or *they'll* be the ones to spark a Revolution.
There are millions of people right now in this country ready to go off about those two border Agents who are in prison who were railroaded by *our* government!
Plus, you have to do the math!
There are what, 320,000 local cops, 200,000 state cops, and what, 150,000 feds?
On the other team; 300 million Americans "officially".
And maybe 300 million to 600 million guns?
*All it takes is one spark!*
Funny, why aren't they using those laws against groups like La Raza (The Klan with a tan.) or the other groups who say *publically* they're going to "re-take" the South Western U.S.?
Unless you're ready and willing to enforce them "laws" aren't worth the paper they're written on!
Just ask KittinSol, right KittinSol?[:D]

I'm with ya on that sentiment. I'm about to go Joan of Arc on their asses...minus the crazy visions. So what do you think about RNEM (rouge nation enemy milita) ARM (armed resistance movement) and TCM (the civilians military)? All of these organizations are ready for the spark and have been perparing for it. Their membership is growing, and people are pissed. This spark maybe right around the corner. It's just getting beyond ridiculous the ways in which they are trying to take every right we have. There are so many bills that violate The Constitution that it would take me 3 days to list them all. In my opinion if something isn't done soon it will be to late. HR 1955 is like the last nail in the coffen. To quote a song "I don't want to tell my grandchildrenI watched it unfold  I sat back and did nothing while they placed us in shackles and replaced the three branches with castle."

I think Thomas Jefferson is looking down on us and smiling.

"If  ye love wealth better than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude better
than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."
-Samuel Adams, 1776

Those people risked everything they had including life to start this country.
I think we have a sacred duty to keep it.
If neccessary I'd go to jail for the rest of my life to preserve the U.S.
Or,  be shot down in the street.
It's been a few years since I served our country and I never consider that service finished by any means.
The trick to shooting people in a situation like that is to shoot the "right" people.

LOL! Boy KittinSol, your arguments are superlative tonight.

And what argument would that be? That you invoked my name in vain, again? You're lucky I'm letting you off with a slap on the wrist. Run along, now :-) .

DomAviator -> RE: H.R. 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act (6/19/2008 8:58:59 PM)

Terrific idea, now if they could add the Democratic Party and the Committee for Obama 2008 to that list of radical organizations I say great. Let the round ups begin! [:D]

jlf1961 -> RE: H.R. 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act (6/19/2008 9:03:01 PM)

Look, the best thing Jr. could do is declare martial law on the last day of october, declare a postponement of the elections and let nature take its course.

I am almost sure he wouldnt use nukes inside the borders of the US.
