Why did this get thread get into the polls and random section?  I thought off topic section was for politics.
Maybe if this thread actually discussed politics it would still be there...

I don't know, but this trend toward shifting threads into RS is extremely irritating. First of all, RS is my favorite section, and I don't like to think of it as a dumping ground. Second, the political cast-offs clutter the menu and make the games harder to find.

DC just thin of it has another game You get to play, weeding out the political nonsense from the more important (in this case) search for actual games.....

Discussing Obama's shoddy treatment of Muslim volunteers, while preaching a new era in race/ethnic relations isn't political?

Are "politics" limited exclusively to the "issues" on the Obama website?

I vote for people, not issues.  As do most voters.

This IS politics.  It is ALL politics.

Really?  So all the public works projects, including the bridge you may drive over in your daily commute were failures?  Social Securiy is a failure?  Ask your parents or grandparents how they feel about that statement.

I don't drive over any bridges that were built during the New Deal.  Yeah, social security is a failure IMO.  I don't like the government telling me how to save my money.  I have been paying into SSI since I was 15 years old.  I probably will never see a dime of that money.  If I had saved it on my own, it would be in a bank gaining interest.

I know the opinion my grandparents had of FDR and the New Deal.  My grandparents were life long Republicans, and they despised him.  My grandmother told me that her father wouldn't allow FDR's name to be mentioned in his home.  My parents are in their mid 60's, so they weren't around for the New Deal.  But they both remember the Great Society, JFK, and LBJ.  My father hated both of them.

You're sure about that ?  There were a great many public works projects undertaken by the New Deal, so even if you don't use a bridge built during the program  chances are you are benefitting from some other type of public works project financed by it.  I'll leave the Social Security argument alone, because even you must realize the benefits it has had for society.

Yep, I'm sure.  I already said I didn't see the benefits of SSI, so nope I don't realize anything it's done for society.  It's forcefully taken our money away to fund moronic government programs.  I don't like anyone telling me that I'm not responsible enough to use my own wages wisely.

Then I truly hope that an accident, long-term illness, or disability never gives you a wakeup call to realize those benefits.
