Life is change.  We are given soo many choices with soo many different outcomes.  When you think about it life is nothing more then prolong the inevitable (death).  But the process of life is so beautiful that sometimes one just needs to sit back and take it all in.  Forget about the dramas, choas, traffic, and gas prices.  Forget about all the materialistic things.  I will be the first to admit that I do not have very many luxaries in life, but why should I.  I feel that if the person next to you is homeless trying to take shelter unuder a card board box why should I be buying unnecessary items to enhance my life.  Now I know that some people simply mess up in life, but who are we to judge them unless we have lived a day in their shoes.  I would, without hesitation, live in the life of anyone out there just to get a taste of the different aspects that life has to over and to build my character.  I just think that life is so beautiful and no matter what life/path I choose I know that "Only God Can Judge Me"  Tupac.

You remind me of my studies in my 101 Philosophy class. We talked about Buddhism a little and how the poor were considered the greatest because they lived for no other reason than to live and ascend to a higher state of being, forgoing all material things that would "hold them down to earth".

I myself look at things a little differently. Life throws opportunities at me, and I'm more than willing to play the game and I don't feel too bad about getting the opportunities I do. I earn everything I get, whether it's because I'm born in a certain place at a certain time, or that I do certain things. To me that's empowering and I use what I get to my full advantage to enjoy as much as life as possible. It'd be hard for me to travel to New Zealand in a cardboard box. ...unless I had a lot of imaaaagination, LOL!

I only wish more people shared those thoughts. I hope you are able to maintain those thoughts as you enjoy your life. It is freshing to see that I am not the only one that feels that way. I tend to do the pay it forward. What you put out there does come back to you.

I tend to beleave you get out what you put in....if your idea of putting into your life is living homeless to "prevent having anything to hold you down" then you will get out alot of very lonly cold winters....on the other hand if you put in all you have and help the community at large you will be reworded in turn.  Just my 2 cents

Kinda reminds me of a speech Henry Rollins gave on one of his dvds.  He talked about how his best friend got shot right in front of him when the 2 of them got robbed at gunpoint.  Later on he talked about how lucky we are because we have a life to begin with to even be able to experience all the great times that we do have, that we take for granted so often.  I agree completely.  As much as life can suck at times, life is fucking awesome.  I firmly believe that while we're here, we should enjoy life to the fullest at all costs.  I know I sure as hell will.

Where do you get this idea that homeless people are homeless out of choice?
