Ok we have all read the countless threads about the safety of it and if its ok to drink.....that isnt what I want to hear about in this thread....My big question is what places aside from the bathtub do you guys use?  and how do you prevent a mess/clean up after?  I ask because im a big fan of the activity but have come up short on ideas that dont involve using 2 laundry loads worth of towles.

Try ourdoors.
I love doing piss play in a natural enviromrnt.
Only precautions are not to scare the neighbours+ or to be overlooked, upset passing parents with kids in the park.
There's a big 'dogging' community in the UK.......car parks. You can do almost anything consensual in a car park.............

Well, when I drink it I'm usually on the floor beside his bed, not in the tub.

Usually he'll just drag me to the bathroom floor and pee on me (and, at times, defecates), and it becomes my job to clean up the mess.

For those moments when I'm to piss myself, I have a small tarp laid over the carpet with a couple of towels on it for absorbtion.  I have a set of towels used specifically for these kinds of messes (peeing, gushing, defecating, etc.) and used for nothing else.  $5 white towels from Target can be bleached to death to ensure cleanliness, and tossed when they don't come out perfectly clean.  Replacement is cheap at $5 a piece.

Its either the outdoors or bathroom for us - if he's going to piss on me its always been in the bathtub so far and if I'm going to swallow piss I kneel next to the toilet (or when we've been camping I just kneel next to where he was planning on pissing).

Let's see... aside from a bathtub or shower stall...

The yard
Cheap child's wading pool
Concrete patio that can be hosed off
Basement floor with a drain
A creek bank
Tiled entryway (be sure to use a cleaner made for eradicating urea scents, available at most pet shops)

Echoing the mention of a cheap little inflatable pool, since you can set it up pretty much anywhere you like in the house, and it's simple to rinse it off and pack it away after.

Rubber or plastic sheeting lets you cut down on the mess.

There was also the idea of having me use an old kettle in the middle of the living room to go in, while he watched and chuckled about only having a pot to piss in...

Or she can hold your penis for you (with her hand or mouth) while you are going in the toilet.

A little creativity will take you right out of the bath tub.

Personally i use the Depends pads on the bed for all dirty play.  Works for kinks just as well as it does for old people.  They are cheap and you just roll them up and toss in the trash.

I found absolutely gorgeous buiolder's waterproof dust sheets here in the Uk. They are waterproof on one side and like soft cotton sheeting on the other. They can be cut to size and although more expensive than tarpaulin or dust sheets they can withstand washing in the washing machine. They are comfortable and soft to sleep on also and don't make a crinkling sound.
there's also puppy (yes real dog) house training pads for small areas, for car seats or for chair covers. (Or for the puppy so no problems in buying either of these items in a real shop as part of play.

Medical supply places have bed-wetting pads--sort of like the pet house-training pads, but people sized and comfy to lie on, disposable. I'm sure that Depends is one such brand but I expect generic to be cheaper.

Would you have a link to a supplier for those sheets, by any chance?

When I was doing home birth midwifery, we used chux pads.  They are big -- 20x36" -- absorbent throwaway pads you can buy at any pharmacy, probably in the same aisle as the Depends.  Not as environmentally friendly as towels, but easy to use.

An even cheaper option would be the disposable underpads (aka chux). Costco sells them here, although I couldn't find them on their web site. They come in a variety of sizes - some large enough to wrap around a single mattress.

Edit: Ooops! Mss beat me to it!
