Has anyone ever used rubber covered flooring for a dungeon? If so how is it, do stillettos mark it and where did you get it from. I am in the UK so need it to be available for UK market.
Any help/ideas are welcome.

Get a sample and a girl in shoes... Seriously, walking in the really high ones, 4" up is a demanding skill on a perfectly hard floor. Any surface give makes it tougher. And if the flooring punctures, it could be a bad fall getting a tall heel stuck. And of course- the floor having a hole.
My gym has a rubber floor that's so comfortable for crawling around on. In an exercise sort of way of course! But it doesn't get really cold and suck the heat out of you when you do crunches and such. That would be wonderful for a dungeon! Ring up the home gym outfitters and ask if they know about it.

That type of flooring is shown on that web page.  There are high traffic styles, low traffic styles... and you can get samples.

Thank you so much for that link, I have ordered a sample.

Its very expensive! but I think it will last well, now of course I have started thinking, what about the noise of heels on the floor, quite intimidating if sub/slave is blindfold, maybe I will put some in the middle and leave the flooring as is around the edge.....decisions, decisions, the things to think about are immense, I want to get it right, at the right cost, and I have only just begun with the floor! Part of my thinking was the warmth of the floor as dunegon is in the basement and very cold.

Thanks again for the help.

Will do, I have ordered a sample.

The gym idea is a good one I think, now I have to find a gym thats gone out of business!! I can see now why they usually only cover a part of it due to the high cost, unfortunately my budget is limited. But I am sure if I look hard enough I will find it.

Thank you for your suggestion, its appreciated.

"Pick up on" generally means to notice something that is not very obvious.

If you are on a tight budget; I suggest that you consider only putting the flooring down around each station in your dungeon. This way you will still hear the heels/feet hit the floor, until they get close, then ......
Also it delineates the space allotted for each station. So no getting hit be a wielded whip or flogger or lookers crowding the scene.

I did some research for myself here in Germany a couple of weeks ago and found this online shop with an additional ebay store.
Unfortunately i can't tell if they ship to other countries, because we have some shops in the area.
Some of the floors are also used for trainstations and airports and they should be quite wear-resistant.

Isn't that the ever loving truth!  I was wearing my 6 inch stilettos (platform style - not the ballet type)  at my friend's house.  He has very thick carpeting in his recessed living room.  Going up and down the two carpeted stairs with NO hand rails from the lower room to the upper section which included the kitchen & bathroom was tricky!  I had NO problem sending my boy to get anything I wanted from the kitchen... but the potty breaks were all up to me!  *giggle*

I can't imagine trying to balance on those heels on an overly soft surface while swinging a flogger.  I'd be on my ass more often than my boy was on his knees!

Try a place that sells equestrian equipment and look for the heavy rubber mats that are used for trailer and stall floors. If a shod hoof can't damage it, hard to think a spike heel can. Around here they're made from recycled tires so you're doing your green bit too.

Right, well a very big thank you to all those people that took the time and trouble to reply, and even look up places on the net. I got a couple of samples but they were quite thin, not what I had hoped for, then a friend managed to find a big roll of rubber flooring (at the local forge would you believe!!). The blacksmith is fitting out somewhere and if he has enough left for my dungeon (which is quite big) he will do me a 'deal'.

It is thick black rubber with white flecks, I have a sample and have walked over and over it with my slut laying on the floor watching carefully, it doesnt stick and it doesnt dent, so that test was passed! Now I just have to hope that he has enough, if he hasnt I will take someones posting advice and just lay the rubber around the edge, which is where most of the equipment will be, that way the middle of the dungeon will have the tap, tap, tap of stilletos........

Now I need a throne, bid on e bay just now, but someone else wanted it more!! I will put another thread for that as everyone here has been so helpful.

Thanks everyone.
