I have been reading Elise Sutton's site for some time.  I'm considering posting an ad there. Has anyone here encountered her for real?

SolangeRichards -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/24/2008 3:13:34 AM)

You know, I've never encountered J.D. Salinger, but I know he exists.

I've never met Elise Sutton but there's a website, there's product for sale and someone is cashing the checks....

MistressNew -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/24/2008 5:08:35 PM)

I wish I knew.  I'd really like to order a subscription to predominant, her ezine, but it costs a fortune that I just can't throw away.

Hoping somebody with more knowledge of her site answers this...

I'm pretty sure she's just as real as Betty Crocker.

TeeGO -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/25/2008 10:34:19 AM)

There is real there in "Elise Sutton." But I doubt she is one real woman. The stories she puts out cannot be real. Especially the older stuff. But it's a fun Fantasy.  That is, in my opinion, what they are "for real" putting out.

LaTigresse -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/25/2008 11:20:10 AM)

TeeGo!!!! How nice to see you again! I hope you are doing well?

As far as Elise Sutton, I also have always gotten the feeling that she is a fabrication of someone's vivid imagination. I could be wrong.

I haven't studied Elise Sutton's site but know she has been around a long time.  Just because someone writes things that may be extreme, outrageous or just a lot of them doesn't mean they are not real.  After 12+ years of writing on the Internet (1995 - 2005 were free on my site, it was probably one of the original 'blogs' I guess, even though it was not labeled as such) I've put up so much content that people who are new to my site accuse me regularly of being a group of people, a corporation or something invented by a man.  I find that kind of funny :)

I love the site and the books.  But nobody has ever come forward and said that they personally know this person, so I think Elise is like Ms. Crocker.

subfever -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/25/2008 9:23:35 PM)

I'd put the odds of her being real at about even-money.

If she is real, my guess is that some of the people she commissioned to create the artwork for her site, her actual website design, the set-up for her e-books, etc., would have had an opportunity to meet her, or at least directly converse with her... especially during the earlier years of her site.

No.

No one has (Now relate that to here).

Have fun.

I remember when your website only had a handful of stories on it... crazy how it has grown.

I started getting into femdom around 1994 during the middle of college and I have to say that your writing had a VERY large influence on how I've eroticized this whole lifestyle. The Internet was too slow back then to download multimedia so I had to make to with stories on your website and on alt.sex.femdom.

In any case, I've received an enormous amount of pleasure, as well as many other gifts, from my involvement with BDSM. And, I think you had a lot to do with that. How's funny is that? We don't even know each other, but you have had such a big influence on me. So, thanks for sharing your thoughts!

The cynical man's rule of material on the Internet: if it gets you too hard, it was probably done by a man. It's a stereotype, but a lot of guys are homophobic and have had past experiences to drive it home. Rather than funny, I'd consider it a compliment. Men and women often have somewhat divergent tastes, after all.

Health,
al-Aswad.

thetammyjo -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/26/2008 5:41:06 AM)

Ultimately how do any of us know any of the rest of us are "real" and representing ourselves as we truly are?

Sure I have a website but how do you know that's really me in the pictures?

I suppose you could go to GLLA 7 or Inconjunction this summer and meet me.. but how do you know that's me and not some actress I hired?

J.P. Sarte defined human reality as what others say. A writer cannot declare himself a poet, only his readers can. Sometimes the readers don't come along until after the fact (Emily Dickenson.)

So, the persuasive evidence about Elise Sutton would have to come from others with personal knowledge of her; not from her website or from her her own statements and writings.

When I have to prove that someone is an extraordinary scientist to the USCIS (INS), they want peer reviews, independent press articles, awards won etc. The more distant the testimonies are from the applicant --- the better. Close colleagues are regarded with suspicion. (Bias.)

Reliable, third party evidence is in short supply on the internet. No one here has posted anything that might lead you to credibly conclude that Elise Sutton is real.

J.P. Sartre defined human reality as what others say.

He found that human beings exist beyond mere physicality because they are conscious of their existence: whilst an object is created with a well-defined aim, human beings exist without one and have to make their own goals. Our individual lives are our own to define. Therefore, man is fundamentally free. Indeed, we are condemned to be.

It's nauseating [8D] .

slavekal -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/26/2008 7:30:19 AM)

We are getting way too philosophical here.  I believe the original intent was to determine if there is or is not a real woman named (or pen named) Elise Sutton.  How do people know that any of us are real?  That's easy.  There are several people on collarme who know me personally, who have met me in person many times.  Can anyone say the same of Elise Sutton?

kittinSol -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/26/2008 7:37:37 AM)

How can anything get 'too philosophical' [:D] ?!

Vestonika -> RE: Elise Sutton: For Real? (6/26/2008 7:41:16 AM)

ummmm... when you lose direction and motivation..?
