i've done both, and both were, because of our mutual commitment, equally successful. Yes, one can lie perhaps easier on-line than face to face, but the trust has to be there in both cases or it just doesn't work. While he couldn't swat my butt if i didn't learn something properly, i think the on-line training was good because it required patience that might not have been there otherwise. There were times when i found on-line especially useful because it gave me time think about my answers to some of his questions, and time to formulate my own questions to him. The biggest problem is that, in my own experience, it was easier for mis-understandings to develope. There were times when one of our "inner voices" wasn't the same as the one felt by the writer, and all manner of problems would insue. But..it was a great way to get to know each other by our words, and later on, moving into face to face venues, i knew more about what he wanted, needed or hated in ways i didn't with a strictly face to face relationship. regards jk
