Honestly Pink, I didn't recognize the new incarnation at first due to the lack of severe headache when reading your posts. I appreciate the change, and I think you will find that you get more constructive responses, as people will actually read your OP.

I noticed and appreciated it. There is also a gentleman who posts here who suddenly quit as well. I noticed his too. And I appreciate it. I just didn't mention it. It does make it SO much easier to read. Thank you!!!

Pink, I am glad that you chose to lose the slashy speech....it was obnoxious. But in your first post you said it was gone quite awhile. Then here you said 2 weeks. But as WyldHrt pointed out it's only been three days and so there really hasn't been that much time to notice the change....3 days is neither "quite awhile" nor is it anywhere close to 2 weeks.

It's a hard line to walk because some people using the slash method feel that anyone that doesn't is being disrespectful. Personally, I care more about the message than whether pronouns are capitalized and whether slash speech is used, but after being attacked for being a bad sub for not using "proper" capitalization I've modified my style. Yes, sweetie, your posts are easier to read and many of us appreciate that.

I think it's human nature to notice things that bother us more than we notice the lack of such. For example, misspellings often jump out at me from a page of text, but when I read a page with no misspellings, I do not consciously notice.

It assumes that everyone reading wants to be spoken (written) to in that manner when I see it as something that should be directed to individuals, not the masses. That and it really does make my eyes stutter and it breaks up the sentence to unreadability. It is a bit funny, this morning I got a CMail trying to pull me up on my behavior for not addressing someone as mistress and instead using their actual nick. I use the screen name they choose and not a generic master or mistress unless it is actually part of their nick. That person is totally unable to understand that since they don't know me, and they are not in any way shape or form 'above' me then that means they are neutral. It is not a lack of respect on my part. If they wanted to be called master or mistress then IMO it should have been part of their nick.

Maybe because we're adults (supposedly) here, we also don't see the need to jump, shout and scream "huzzah" every time when someone decides to show a little courtesy towards others? (Why is common courtesy so uncommon?) And has been said, it hasn't been 2 weeks, and the vision issues were with your large coloured font. Thank you for discontinuing the slash-speak. [sm=dunno.gif]
