ORIGINAL: Asherdelampyr Imnsho some things arent worth arguing over this is one of those things now, if its loud enough to stop me from being able to concentrate enough to do my job, then I would talk to the person about it but freedom of expression is there for all forms of expression, especially what you dont want to hear Respectfully -- surprisingly -- I disagree. You might remember the Haris Krishnas, annoying people trying to deplane in airports -- pushing flowers and religious nonsense on passengers until they couldn't navigate the damned hallway. I dunno why, but this has passed. My housing association is a favorite spot for all sorts of strangers, from kids selling candy to Jehovah's Witnesses who want me to buy a copy of the 'Watchtower'. I wish my board would take steps to prohibit soliciting around here. But the workplace is different -- and religious music is different. Nika has a legal right to perform her duties and earn her paycheck free of anyone else's religious proclamations, whatever form they may take. She's entitled to feel annoyed -- I was annoyed myself. I'd be hard pressed to find anything more personal than someone's spiritual life. Her supervisor does not have the right to force her beliefs on someone else merely because they report to her. I don't even want to know what my supervisors' religious beliefs may be, unless we become friends outside work. I don't want to be 'told' what to believe, or how to vote, or what issues they're excitable about, etc. It's work -- I'm not there as a somebody else's target for 'conversion'. I'm there to earn a living, period. candystripper
