Anyone Familiar With Mozilla? - 6/27/2008 10:07:22 AM

I've been suffering severe pc problems, and a friend of mine suggested I stop using IE and instead use Mozilla/Foxfire as my browser.  I prefer Mozilla, though I wasn't able to import my bookmarks.

However, I can't reach CollarMe at all on Mozilla.  It navigates to the log in page then just keeps cycling there.

Did I d/l Mozilla wrong?  Is there some plug in I should have on it that would allow me to reach CollarMe?

Are other people able to reach CollarMe on Mozilla?

Thank you for any help.

I am on collarme on firefox now, actually. Always. Ihave both on my machine, IE and Firefox, since Fox and I switch back and forth between the two. never had any problems logging onto CM from there. Check and completely empty your cookies from your other browser AND from firefox and try again.

Use both their Firefox and their Thunderbird programs without any difficulty. (Thunderbird is their E-mail program)

When i downloaded Firefox it automatically imported all my bookmarks from IE. I also switch back and forth with no problems.

The only problem I have found on Firefox is sending private messages - for some reason the return character / command isn't recognised. When I draft the message I can make paragraphs galore but as soon as I send it the formatting disappears and it is delivered as one block of text. Grrrr.

Otherwise, Firefox is great. Some pages don't run quite as well but there is an EI emulator you can get for it, which will let you open designated tabs and run troublesome pages in them.

I'm using Mozilla Firefox right now, I use Mozilla Thunderbird for e-mails, and I also like Mozilla Iceweasel.

I also have Seamonkey and Opera. Mozilla to me is slightly better than Seamonkey, and just as good as Epiphany.

Take note you can't cut and paste text in a CM message using Forefox (as if I would anyway).

I would clean out your cookies and also check your firewall settings.

I don't have many issues with firefox either.  Firefox 3 seems to be acting like a new release of windows...it crashes more than windows ever did.

The old firefox..no issues at all.  Someone asked I believe here in off topic last week.  How to import your favorites to firefox from IE

I'd say that your PC is infected with something which has grabbed the network stack.

Wipe it and reload it cleanly, and then see if firefox is giving you problems.

I did a thread called something like 'switching browsers' when I went from IE to Firefox not too long ago, it had some great info on importing the bookmarks which I too struggled with.

I understood Mozilla was the company and their products are Firefox (browser) and Thunderbird (email). I usually use IE, but I have Firefox 2.0.0.14 currently installed and was able to access CM with no problem. Should probably make sure you've got Java and JavaScript enabled. Go through the Tools/Options and check all your settings. Maybe something's blocking CM.

I prefer Mozilla Firefox, but I have noticed that many profiles/journals look best when viewed in IE.  And I also have to use IE when I update my profile, for some reason all of the options for formatting don't appear in Firefox.

I adore Firefox and use it almost exclusively.  There are a few features I can't use that I didn't even know I was missing until I used IE to get to CM recently - but yes, Firefox works perfectly fine with CM.  My first guesses would be that your security settings or filtering settings are a bit too restrictive, or that you denied cookie setting by the site.  Make sure you are also using an effective internet security suite that has a firewall, adware/spyware and virus protection - and update it and run scans as often as you can.  I am fond of the adblock addon to Firefox.

Mozilla's Seamonkey project used to be known as "Mozilla Suite" or "Mozilla" for short. It is a different product than Firefox. Some of us old-timers still refer to Seamonkey as Mozilla.
