If I was to say the words fat thread, could you flame me?'

Don't you be starting anything, now.....

Just annoyed the last one was closed down before I could weigh in on it.... see what I did there!

I'm surprised it went "poof", too.

In no particular order:

-- relaxation

-- opportunities to make people laugh

-- casual conversation

-- a chance to connect with other BDSMers (Several board friendships have led to in-the-flesh meetings)

-- perspectives I wouldn't encounter in my liberal, urban life

OO, they have added a new catagory since I was last here -- that 'condemned sign' rocks!

Still would rather have the handcuffs, just one pair, but at least maybe someday I can get rid of these damned oars.

Depends on the day. Sometimes it is simple entertainment, sometimes something more substancial. Whether or not I find what I am looking for, depends on the day.

The message boards help me talk to other open minded, fabulous humans.  Since I live some where small and remote, I'm very grateful that there are such lovely amusing folks here...

I regularly read the off topic section and I am very impressed with the general level of intelligence of most who post here. Whether I agree with what is said or not is neither here nor there.
I dont expect anything other than the opportunity to be exposed to a wide cross section of views.

Having 634 cable channels doesn't mean there is anything good on.

A few stray comments in the past couple of days have made me wonder what different members might be seeking from the boards.

Some people seem to 'make friends' on the boards.

Do you come here seeking a sense of community?

I have friends who are quite settled and happiy married/involved.  They visit the boards when time permits to share or learn or maybe just have a giggle.

Do you come here to share what you know -- on any subject -- and learn from others?  Do you ever seek to be entertained here?

One woman made mention of how she and her partner had 'met' via the boards and that she believed this was 'better' than meeting on the other side.
Are you using the boards to seek a partner?  Are you finding that effective?  Do you have a preference for seeking via the boards as opposed to the other side of CollarMe?  Does you desire to find a partner via the boads affect the way you post?

One man made the comment that anyone interested in him would read his posts so as to get know him.

Do you post in hopes that you wll pique the interest of someone on CollarMe?  If so, does it have any impact on how you write posts?

What prompts you to hit the 'message boards' button on the Main Page?

I come here for the entertainment and the flirting.  There are a lot of great people here that I really enjoy reading.  My list of people that I'd love to meet and talk to face to face is extensive.  I've met two people in a d/s capacity as a direct result of posting here.

um, hate to tell you.. they're PADDLES.. yanno.. what a lot of people who actually get out from behind the computer have been known to use or have used upon them?

ServingGirrl -> RE: What Do You Seek From The Boards? (6/29/2008 4:34:16 PM)

Entertainment is good, but making new friends is nice too.   Besides, thanks to my MS i'm an insomniac and this is a place i can always guarantee i'll find someone to chat with (and usually upset for some reason - must be my Aussie sense of humour or something)

slaveboyforyou -> RE: What Do You Seek From The Boards? (6/29/2008 4:56:12 PM)

I started posting and reading the forums regularly after a bad breakup.  It helped me get my mind off of things, and it gave me something to do when I was bored.  I've met a lot of people here, and I enjoy reading the viewpoints of others.  Now it's just a pleasant diversion from my daily routine.  As others have said, it's entertainment.
