Shawn1066 -> Learning to lap dance (6/29/2008 7:22:57 PM)

As a fun surprise*, I want to attempt to learn to do some sort of sexy dance for my Owner.  Sadly, while this is a pretty decent idea, I have absolutely no idea what.  So, I suppose starting by looking for ideas, pointers, and the like may be the best way to do so.  Taking classes or something like that is pretty much out, for a variety of reasons.

It's something I want to be fun and enjoyable to her, and I know she'll appreciate me putting genuine effort into it.

So yes, thoughts, ideas, and pointers are greatly appreciated.

*As much a surprise as it can be when I'm openly asking on a board we both frequent daily. :-p

first thing....be yourself....let yourself get into the music....feel the music.....try testing out your moves on like a pilloe on your bed....without anyone around......see how you do then

Carmen Electra produced a series of videos about how to do a striptease, and lapdance was one of them. I'm not sure how much of that can be translated for a male dancer, since, after all, what you would (or more accurately, would not) be rubbing against on a lap would be different for a female...dancee. You might search youtube: lap dance produced a plethora of results, at least some of them must be useful.
Another, somewhat ridiculous idea is OnDemand. Last time I checked (ages ago), there was an OnDemand stripping series on the exercise channel, and a lot of ideas that apply to normal stripping also apply to lap dances, sensual movements and such.
    Good luck!

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: Learning to lap dance (6/29/2008 7:59:08 PM)

As a former exotic dancer, I can tell you from experience that it's much harder to do a lap dance for a woman than for a man just because of the anatomical differences.  If it's possible, I would suggest a visit to a strip club that offers lap dances in order to watch the girls work.  Another thing you can try is renting a how-to video for learning basic bellydance moves.  Veena and Neena have a good series.  You might also be able to find portions of their vids on YouTube.

The thing to remember is eye contact.  Pour all the heat you feel for your mistress into the look you give her while you're dancing.  What you do with your body is secondary.  When I was dancing, we weren't allowed to touch customers between chest and knees with our hands or face.  However, we could use other body parts to touch that area.  Customers were not allowed to touch us at all.  Ask her to keep her hands behind her head or to sit on them.  That little bit of forbidden fruit becomes highly tantalizing, especially when you're almost but not quite touching her.

Hope this helps.

greetings fox,

i have carmen electra's video series and never found it helpful for learning to strip, but it's okay as exercise and it might be helpful to you. i also found the book "the s factor" pretty helpful (it's available on amazon, it's by sheila kelly). the biggest help for me though has been practice and watching videos of stripping - this might help you more (to watch videos of men stripping) since most of the stripping books and lesson videos are geared towards women. learning other kinds of dance has always helped me as well, so if it's something you are really interested in, i would recommend checking out other forms of dance and incorporating that. good luck!

edited to add: i second the veena and neena videos! i have those and they are so much more useful than carmen electra's imho.

respectfully,
a'ishah.

Guess where I learned all of my sweet-ass moves?
Youtube and music videos. LOL! I just mimic what they're doing, or work my ass off (literally and figuratively) until I can emulate the move. That's all the advice I can give D: I learn through mimicry, so that worked for me!

Quivver -> RE: Learning to lap dance (6/29/2008 8:08:10 PM)

Tequilla, it always worked for Me.

Lynnxz -> RE: Learning to lap dance (6/29/2008 9:31:04 PM)

Youtube is great, just avoid the teenieboppers flailing around in their bedrooms. (I saw an amazing one where some girl was dancing on her dresser and pulled the whole thing down on top of her... sexy!!)

And Sylvere is right.. it's all about the eye contact, and enjoying yourself- have fun! (Make vids)

It's a shame lessons are not a possibility; a stripper would be able to tutor you and you'd probably have a blast learning.

Maybe they sell a video on the subject?

Aynne -> RE: Learning to lap dance (6/30/2008 6:36:16 AM)

Shawn,

I dont know if DV would let this happen, but get yourself to a club. Go to where the lapdancers are honey. You and DV could get a couples dance, or she could buy you a dance and watch while you ahhh studied?
I got some of my best ideas from going to gentlemen's clubs. Ususally with men that were um less than gentlemen but I digress...[;)]

Oh and whomever said tequila helps was right on too.

DesFIP -> RE: Learning to lap dance (6/30/2008 5:35:31 PM)

Slight hijack here, he announced one day he wanted me to do a table dance and I looked him in the eye and said there was no way I was dancing on top of a table in those heels. He couldn't stop laughing and I had to wait for him to calm down before he could explain what a table dance was.

OMG.. LOL I hate this tendency to blush even when I am alone.
Those videos!
The odd thing is that I spent two years belly dancing in a night club, but way too many things still make me blush.
To the OP.. buy some belly dancing videos.  They are great excercise and there are some moves in there which look equally good when done by men.

okay i know you said classes and the like were pretty much out but what about private lessons.  I would bet that if you found a club and asked if any would be willing to teach you what they do in the privacy of your home or some other discrete place and they sign a confidentiality contract (seriously a legit business arrangement idea contract and all signed) to learn to dance as they do (also think stripper grams etc who would probably be very willing to make extra money teaching someone on the side).

Just a thought -- their business is making money -- they may be willing to give private lessons of their trade.

Actually this is a very good idea.   [:)]

Bethnai -> RE: Learning to lap dance (7/2/2008 9:04:32 PM)

One dance or two?  I always found that locating my music was first.  If there is music that you can really mentally get into, 1/4 of the battle is over. I would suggest that you pick the music for you and something that your body automatically moves to. Look at the time of the song. There are 500 gazillion 3minute 20 second songs.  500 gazillion 5 minute 30 second songs. You can break it down into one up-tempo song with teasing and a slower one that is physically closer. Or you can do both, well, in one song.

I would suggest a costume. Look for velcro pull aways, so you don't have to get stuck trying to get it off.  You can play by theme with costume and music.  Costumes with hats are cool because the hat can become a prop. Props are cool. Guns, canes, teddybears, candy whatever.
What they offer is the ability to ....insinuate. Hat from head to crotch. Gun lightly traces upper thigh, stopping short.  More to incorporate.

girlygurl -> RE: Learning to lap dance (7/2/2008 10:30:06 PM)

Shawn,
I think that's a great idea, and I'm sure she'll love that you put thought into it.  I want to do the same thing for Sir.  Choose music that moves you, makes your bootie bounce hee hee.. Try getting a chair (maybe even the one she would be sitting in) and dance around that, using it in your routine while you dance... seduce the chair.. ok, that sounds silly, but I'm sure you know what I mean.  I've listened to many songs trying to get the perfect one to dance to, pick one and dance to it until you're ready for the big show!  Good luck and have fun!
