That is a shame Pup. There used to be alot more good jobs in this country, even if you didn't work in a factory, those places had offices, sales departments, purchasing departments , payroll departments. I figure telemarketers as displaced office workers, even if they are too young to have been displaced, I guess we could then say that the jobs are displaced. The best thing about the DNC list is that I no longer have to give people a hard time. I don't even know them and they are at least working instead of collecting a welfare check. If you think I enjoyed using my tactics on them you are mistaken. Those tactics are usually reserved for people I know who have a brain fart, do something really stupid. Things like that. I was getting 6-8 calls a day. Lower your credit card debt, paint your house, and your car warranty is about to expire. With my posse I have a couple of good mechanics, and connections to get parts you wouldn't believe. I have very rarely bought a car that ran right, but I made it run right, and on the cheap. I have never had a warranty on a car. And the city will give me paint for my house. First of all I do not take anything from the government, and they want to give you a voucher for Sherwin Williams. That paint is junk, there are three grades of paint. At the bottom there is the junk at Kmart. Then there is the second tier, which includes Sherwin Williams, and the general twenty buck a gallon stuff like Dutch Boy, Behr etc. Then you have the good paint. Benjamin Moore, Pratt & Lambert, and they cost a bit over twice what the second tier paints cost. That's what I use. I do that because I do not want to paint again. I got Benny Moore on the interior of the house and let me tell you, I can scrub it with steel wool if need be and it doesn't come off. Meantime a strong cleaning solution and a rag will take the cheap stuff off. In other words, nothing any good is free. Even debt consolidation. Every person involved with that company gets a check, it can't be free. If you are writing loans, just come out and say it. And I don't care what anyone says, this house is paid off and I don't care if you reduce my interest to zero, I am not securing unsecured debt. And there is another factor that takes my aggravation quotient through the roof. I know what I need and want. Advertise to me, you will anyway. If I want or need what you have I will call you. If not, I will leave you alone, so leave me alone ! So work on your spelling Pup, and get yourself a better job. As much as I might hate to say it right now, I advocate the total demise of the telemarketing industry, and I am not alone. Eventually almost everyone will be on the DNC list, then what do you do ? Even in a service based economy, there are companies, and those companies have sales departments, purchasing departments, payroll departments and so forth. Telemarketing used to be called "cold calls" but they were not at randon. I work in the electronics field and one supplier did do cold calls, but we were established customers and they had same day delivery. When they called that meant it was like a notice that if we need some parts or tools today, say so now or you don't get it until tomorrow. That didn't bother us at all. There is a big difference. T
