It's *never* been acceptable in *any* venue to use an encyclopedia as a primary reference.

And if it's wrong, why didn't you fix it instead of complaining?

And it has something else. The 'Discussion' pages on a topic can be more enlightening than the entry itself. *THAT* is where you can see who's grinding what axe, and make your owns judgements.
