"Plushies" describes people with a cushion and/or couch fetish (hence the expression "That's a plush couch!") , and "furries" is for those who like to wear teddy ears, noses and tails.

To elaborate further upon what a furrie is, I'd suggest looking up 2-the ranting gryphon.. he gives a good defining on what it is, But in a nutshell. Its people, well, a group of people that enjoy anthropromorphic creatures, like: tony the tiger - probably the most well known anthro. :\ Some find them sexually appealing, while others just enjoy the art, and the animal-like aspects.

Okay, is Mickey Mouse a subject of eroticism for some people? Cuz that's a [sm=hardlimit.gif][sm=hellno.gif].

SweetNika -> RE: what is the difference? (7/2/2008 2:33:51 PM)

Plushie is a stuffed toy that is stuffed with rice, beans, straw, or cotton.
Furry is an anthropomorphic being. Anthropomorphism is giving human charactistics to an inhuman object. A simple example would be to say dolphins are always happy because they are always smiling when in reality they just look like they are smiling and we therefore just assume they are happy. A more complex example would be a cartoon character such as Tweety or Mickey Mouse, because they walk around, talk and act like people.

Blessed be,
Nika

fluffyswitch -> RE: what is the difference? (7/2/2008 2:34:36 PM)

and then you get into nekko culture...and sigh...

kittinSol -> RE: what is the difference? (7/2/2008 2:35:54 PM)

So I wasn't far off with my cushion analogy!

Strommer -> RE: what is the difference? (7/2/2008 2:37:10 PM)

Good furres don't consider neko's furres. :3

fluffyswitch -> RE: what is the difference? (7/2/2008 2:38:35 PM)

no offense but what's a good furrie? i know a decent number of furries...and they tend to be split on it.

fluffyswitch -> RE: what is the difference? (7/2/2008 2:41:13 PM)

i'm thinking that i just discovered something else that i'm not weal or twue at...going to go look at my tail and cry...

i'm not very involved in it but geez...maybe i should give up while i'm ahead.

Strommer -> RE: what is the difference? (7/2/2008 2:42:26 PM)

Its a 50/50 thing regarding nekos honestly, I just can't stand 'em because they're always grinding their genitals on you for attention... =|

jakeskajira -> RE: what is the difference? (7/2/2008 2:43:19 PM)

Thank, I did google it and look at wikipedia a bit, but still felt a little confused. Thats why I asked ;)

A friend of mine heard an argument on a radio station today between a furrie and plushie and confused me when she was trying to explain it to me and asked me if I knew what they were talking about.. (which I had no idea myself.)

So thank you for enlightening me.

Jake's emma
