Welcome to the USA, Florida AND Tampa!
How are you liking the weather & thunderstorms? 
I totally understand about the cramped quarters on plane, eeeek, I am about 5' or a teeny bit taller and I was cramped from Atlanta to Paris but worse on the return flight from Paris to Atlanta (and it was delayed 3 hrs) PLUS I almost missed my connecting flight in Atlanta back to Tampa (but it was roomier). My luggage wasn't as fortunate as me, it came on another flight after me and had to be sent up to me the next day.
Yeah the coming back into the states was a real drag for real, and going through security at rush hour was NOT my idea of fun. 
Bus rides are not my cup of tea, blech!!!

56 hrs from my house in SW France to Greedy's house here in Tampa.
The flight from London to Charlotte, NC was very cramped, I'm 6ft 3in tall so being stuck in those tiny seats for 8hrs is a bit of a chore....lol
Though an American guy who was sat two seats down from me was 6ft 6in tall and he really was cramped!!!
US imigration was fun......lol
Because I am staying here for the full 90 days allowed under the Visa waiver program, the immigration people at Charlotte nearly choked on their donuts....lol.
Apparently they didn't like the fact that I had never actually met Greedy for real before and that by profession I am a S/S waiter and general jack of all trades......
So I had to wait for two hours in the holding room whilst they processed me....after having my index finger of each hand scanned and being web cammed twice.......I missed my interconnecting flight to Philadelphia.......I managed to catch a later one though and got back on schedule....lol
The greyhound bus ride from Philly to Tampa was interesting if a tad long winded...lol
I'm not going to do that trip by bus again...if I can help it....lol
I had to change buses three times!!
And some young girl who got on in Jacksonville, FL decided that she would smoke a joint in the onboard restroom, which is strictly forbotten.....lol
The Driver threatened to stop the bus and call in the police sniffer dogs.....which would have been fun....not....lol
However its fantastic to be here now and part of me is still saying "WOW!! I'm actually in the states, WOW WEEE, WOOPEE!!!
