Hmmm...magical names that are also "people" names...

Cleo (short for Cleopatra)

I have a Cleo-Catra... I love that name.

But I think a Puuuurfect name for her would be Harlequin ( Harley ) for short. She is Black and White.. the colors of the Harlequin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlequin ( root of the word is Elf King but can be male or female) She is like a Harley... she has had a rough ride in life.. but is still purring along.

I hope this helps.

Gwyn,
Who loves the pussy.

This sounds like the cast of a 1960s TV show.

Are you agreeing with me??

pissthirstysub -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 6:28:44 AM)

lol The character Pootie Tang would keep correcting the the pronunciation of the name, "Its Poo-TEA" like in Keeping Up Appearances.

That would be an awsome show, I imagine.

Yes, especially with the pootie tang/poo-TEA character [:D]

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 7:03:15 AM)

  1. Zoe
  2. Daphne
  3. Phoebe
  4. Chloe
  5. Sassy
  6. Amelia
  7. Misty
  8. Lilly
  9. Amanda

(I am kind of partial 1, 7, 8 and 9.  1 is what I will probably name my next kitty.  7, 8, and 9 are names of cats I currently own or have owned in the past.)

sirsholly -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 7:04:53 AM)

Shimsha....means "little animal friend"

chamberqueen -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 7:11:15 AM)

This may sound crazy, but I typically run names by a new cat.  I choose the one that it tends to react to.

I just got a kitten 3 weeks ago and I gave it my Master's nickname.  (I never use that nickname with him myself.)  The kitten still hasn't repsonded to it.  : )

Your kitten looks like a Francine to me, and you could call her Fancy for short.

this is true...
i took in a 3 week old kitten and named her Abby. She did not respond to her name at all. We were at a friends who had a dog named Molly. Every time the dog was called this little fuzz-ball would react.
Her name has been Molly ever since.

soul2share -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 7:29:25 AM)

She looks like a little Sidney to me......but run it by her.  KB's name was psssssst!  for the first year....I tried all sorts of names, but Kitty Brat made him perk his ears up, so it's been Kitty Brat, KB for short, since then.  Trust me, it's very fitting!

LadyRainfire -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 7:35:51 AM)

Or Precious Monster, P.M. for short.

(And I am so damned glad that I'm not the only one to run the names by the  kitten/cat.  My monsters used to make horrible fun of me for "letting the kitten pick it's own name" until they started seeing that when they tried to force a name on a cat it never worked but when I named a cat, it stuck and responed to me.)

dcnovice -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 7:41:18 AM)

If you have a Melanie, how 'bout Scarlett? After all, Miss O'Hara had green eyes too.

dcnovice -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 8:41:42 AM)

Another possibility would be Harriet, after Harry Potter. He also has black hair, green eyes, and a sad backstory. Plus he's thin, like your little kitty.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 5:38:35 PM)

I tried Scarlet, but HM said no. (actually, Melanie's nickname is Secret Scarlet, because she likes to sneak drinks of my wine or Bacardi and Cokes, but she acts like she would nevah...)

I have been trying different names out on her all day...nada....

She is very loving and happy though. *yay!*

angelicbitch -> RE: Name that kitteh (7/5/2008 5:44:45 PM)

Since she is black ... and white.. Rayven .... My cats names are Demon and Elvira... But I have had a Voodoo.... Banshee and a Zombie... But to me the pretty kitty looks like a Rayven :)

she is a very pretty girl :D congrats

p.s. another good name might Lilith... you could call her Lily for short :D
