Does your supposition lay in the fact you believe we are contacting them first? I am only 5'2" and clearly that might be thought of as little, but I dislike strangers calling me little one. Why? Because while it is cute and affectionate from someone I am fucking, it is a name that strangers often use to put you in a mindset of little girl. That would not be a man I am likely to invite to chat, and/or have lunch with. Oh fuck. I need to go and re-write my life - I use "girl" and "kid" and "young lady" and I've probably used "little one" sometime. [:(] Bear in mind I'm about 4 times older than most girls (see - "than most ladies" sounds silly, "than most women" sounds awful) and I mean it in a friendly, sometimes affectionate, way not condescendingly. But I hadn't realised it's so offensive to so many. Sheesh, the number of times I must have pissed off chaps I thought of as friends! (I use "chaps" too for both hims and hers). So what do I use instead? Help!
