Wow...

That may have been the greatest tennis final ever.

I am glad I saw it.

No longer will Nadal have the 'clay only" monkey on his back.

Great Show!

It was probably the best tennis finale i have ever seen. Seemed like it could have gone to either player but Nadal really left it all out there on the court. Although, the sportscasters kept saying a new era had begun, not so sure i agree with that. Federer is to good to just fade away now.

Yay Nadal
He so deserved it. Whilst both players played their hearts out Nadal really stood out for me.
Not the last we will hear of Federer though by a long shot.

Riveting match.  I was watching it while on the elliptical at the gym - it made me go an extra ten minutes because I had to see who won!

Dunno...

Nadal is five years younger than Federer and once World Class Tennis Players start to push thirty, they tend to lose their World Class status quickly.

Still, I am glad Nadal broke through on another surface and it should make for a great US Open.

Yeah, superb. 'Nothing to choose between them....on another day, it would have gone the other way.

For quality, it was the best final I've seen. For drama, the Borg/McEnroe final of 1980 will take some eclipsing.

Back in 1967 i was fortunate to be invited to play in the Queens tournament the week before Wimbledon, but didn't qualify for Wimbledon.  However Billie Jean got me tickets for the players box, so i had great seats and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.  I did play in what is now the US Open but was then the USLTA championships at Forest Hills.

ESPN Classics named the match an instant classic, and is replaying it today.

I was hoping they would do that.
