xxblushesxx -> RE: A Naive Question? (7/7/2008 11:01:21 AM)

I didn't see people being particularly snarky with you. Rather, after you said you wanted to keep the name, people kind of threw up their hands and said...ohhhhkayyyyy...

I'm glad you're changing your name. I haven't read your profile, but many here have said you might want to get a more realistic one. Usually people who aren't players are drawn to honest and forthright profiles.

Good luck!

~FR~

Given the bait which you are using, why are you surprised about the fish you catch?

TwoDommeDivas -> RE: A Naive Question? (7/7/2008 2:47:18 PM)

Thanks, all, for your input.  This is our new name, after about ten tries to find one the system would accept.  I think it's innocuous enough (I hope).

There was some excellent stuff about content that we'd like to adopt, but we're a little loathe to talk too much about ourselves in the profile, and we are not sure what kinds of things sincere people want to see.  What's the right balance of info, in your opinions?

And I did think some of the comments were snarkier than was called for.  We are just asking for a little help.

Thanks.

MUUUUUCH better!  [:)]  I think once you're here awhile you'll understand what everyone meant by their comments about the old name.  It really didn't do the two of you justice!   Welcome aboard!

Great nick!  It says exactly who you are in a much classier way.

Don't be afraid to talk about yourselves.  You don't have to give out your address and bank account number or anything.  Focus on your personality traits, hobbies, likes/dislikes, and skills.  You might also want to include the traits, skills, etc. you want in the people who contact you.  Think of your profile as resume meets help wanted ad.

housesub4you -> RE: A Naive Question? (7/8/2008 12:18:01 PM)

I agree

There is no reason to open your soul in your profile.  Just write what interests you and what you desire.

Realize that no matter what you write you will get the nuts responding.  Just block them and move on.

Oh, crap!  Now how do I delete my PIN numbers out of my profile???

[;)]

Thanks for the nice words and suggestions.  They all help.
