The choice of a power unit depends upon what you intend to do with it and your power requirements. For medical use, I would lean toward a unit that can do both TENS and EMS. The first one is supposed to reduce pain while the second is designed to contract the muscles. For erotic use, the Eros-Tek has some interesting models. A TENS which allows for more adjustment than just power level should work well for your needs. One which also offers EMS capabilities will give you more medical waveform options. How the EMS unit would work for e-Stim is something that I am curious to find out some day. The muscle toning sounds like an option that I could use. These units only lack the more erotic modes which may not be necessary for you. If the TENS unit does not offer the erotic experience that you want, at least you have a good TENS to help with your medical needs. I bought the Eros 302 for the wireless remote and additional modes not conducive to medical therapy. It has 3 training modes and 2 audio modes in addition to more standard modes. The training modes work just like a dog shock collar. Push one of 3 buttons to get the subs attention. One mode is low, medium, and high shock. Another training mode is shock A, B, and C for remotely requesting one of 3 responses. The audio modes provide either low or high mic sensitivity and shock the victim in accordance with the sound level. With the stereo playing, I can be shocked to the beat of "Thunderstruck". Always fun. This unit works fairly well for self stim. My only complaint is that the power unit shuts off after 45 minutes without a remote button being pushed. This means that I must remember to hit a training button often enough for it to not auto-shut off while using the training modes. The Eros 312 does not shut off by itself. The medical ones often times have an auto-shutdown feature. I have seen a few that could be told not to, but those are exceptions. The power output likely will be good enough for you. The size of the electrodes and your pain tolerance determine the usable power level. I have no experience with any power unit other than the Eros 302, but can speak of methods to vary the acceptable power level that I can use. Larger electrodes spaced further apart lessen the felt power and allow me to crank it up. With large ones placed upon each rear cheek, I can max the power setting. Place the electrodes the same distance apart directly over the kidneys results in significant pain at only 25% of max power. Small electrodes on sensitive mail organs requires equal caution. The major concern that I have with mixing regular TENS units with e-Stim is the connection of accessories. The Eros model uses regular 1/8 inch headphone jacks to connect the wires to the power unit while some other brands use another size. The newer Tens units have a different power connector. An adapter must be purchased to mix different power units with different accessories. As long as you purchase the correct adapter, any power unit may be used with any e-Stim or TENS electrodes. Since I discovered the auto-shut down of my Eros-302, I have desired a more robust power unit. The Eros-312 has been the one on my mind ever since. It has more adjustments, more power, and will not shut off if left alone. The remote training modes are missing, but the sound mode could be used for sub quiet time for more than 45 minutes at a time. My current unit works well enough for most times, but lacks the adjustments needed to be used as a TENS unit. This is another option that interests me. I am torn between purchasing a TENS/EMS unit or the Eros-312 EDIT: Sorry for replying to such an old thread. I noticed after posting the age of the last post. Unfortunately, I could not find a delete button.
