I've always kind of wondered about the name.  Shouldn't it be OWQ, Other World Queendom?

Status: offline 		For some reason, going overseas to a place where I may or may not find others who speak my language, and hand over huge sums of cash, just to be abused, just doesn't appeal to me. Not when there are perfectly good places I could spend an "erotic vacation" here in the US or Canada. There's Camp Crucible, Thunder in the Mountains, Black Rose, various BDSM cruises, and so on...

OWK really strikes me more as a BDSM Ren Fair than Disneyland. The pretension level seems to just trip out my interest in such a place.

Besides, Anne Rice "villiage" fantasies aside... do you REALLY want to flush your real life for this?

I don't think much thought went into coining the name.

On second thought, I can see the challenge they faced. I mean, what else could they have done?

House of Women? HOW? I am sure that seemed like a defeatist acronym.

And Domain of Women? DOW? There was too much potential for confusion with Dow Chemical. Not only would it have turned off the environmentally conscious, there was risk of people in leather showing up at Dow Headquarters, and people in suits with briefcases showing at the village entrance gate.

And Kingdom or Queendom of Women? KOW or QOW? I don't think so.

Then how about Empire of Women? EOW? Sounds like something out of Old McDonald had a Farm.

Other World Empire? OWE? That sounds like owie. It's not consistent with the intensity of the pain they give there.

I mean, I'm just about out of ideas. I am sure they were too.

I wonder what OWK *for women* would look like?
Men carrying their bags while they shopped unlimited, could have anything they wanted.  Lots of foot massages by attentive gentlemen who were sprawled around the floor waiting for commands.  Waiters who complimented the ladies endlessly and asked sweet, sincere questions about their interests and if they needed anything to be more comfortable.  Men voluntarily participating in m/m sports and activities with bodies glistening in the sun from suntan oil, sweat, ready to stop at any given moment if a lady just snapped her fingers and called them over.

Some say its disappointing, some say its the best thing they have ever experienced.
It depends on what you like and what you think of the person(s) you get partnered with there IMHO

Status: offline 		I think it depends on when you go.  When milady and I went, we were the ONLY people there.  They have huge festivals a couple of times a year, and I would love to return for one of those.  We just happened to be in country, and we were not about to pass up a chance to visit.  We had a great time once we got over the fact that we would be left all alone.  Ms. Mlicious wrote about it on her blog.

Yeah I would have to agree with that. Finally someone seeing it like me.

Its always good to talk to the person you are in a relationship with. Especially if you are married you obviously love that person to go that far so i would talk about your desire with them.

A past vanilla girlfriend of mine actually began to open up to some of the kinks i told her i liked...though it wasn't what i desired, she was enjoying herself and she at least tried some of the kinky stuff i was into and I have to be happy with the effort she put in. If you like a person and they like you compromises can be made

I would say do some research, make calls and check into the Pro's in your area, I'm sure you can find a Pro that will give you a taste of the lifestyle without the commitment. That's what the best Pro's do. Then your dream can be fulfilled cheaper and local...

Status: offline 		I've always wondered about the expense. A trip to the Czech Republic isn't exactly like driving to the Poconos and staying at the Holiday Inn. Not knowing how much such a trip costs, I'm amazed that so many people have enough ching to spend on something like this

It might not be so interesting to go there for people from neighboring countries where you find a BDSM chamber in every swinger club, e.g in Vienna. Oh, and by the way, Vienna has a BDSM bar with furnished public play room in the back. www.smartcafe.at No membership necessary, open almost every night. Nice little place to hang out.
