Hi all I've only made a few replies, and this is My first topic starter, so I thought I'd take a min. to introduce Myself:
I'm Mistress Lexi Tempest (or the artist formerly known as Mistress Lexi ). I am 22 years old, and I am Pro Domme from the Poconos. And no, I'm not inviting you to share your opinion on My profession :) That's not what this post is about!
===============================================================================

I am posting, however, because so many subs have been contacting Me asking the dumbest questions, and it's driving Me crazy! I'm not putting down all subs, mind you. Just some of the ones who are writing Me lately, lol.
I am getting emails/messages from people who "tried" to fill out the sub application on My site, and can't figure out how to send it in.. when it's just because they didn't read the instructions and answer every question. I also get messages from subs asking for pictures after I have shown them My site, which has pics.

It's driving Me nuts.. I keep going back and forth, wondering if it's Me or if it's them. And sometimes I can't figure out if someone is a timewaster, or they're just that dumb!

So, I'm wondering how other Dommes (both professional and lifestyle) handle timewasters? What do you do to help prevent them coming around? What do you say to someone when you believe they are wasting your time?

Thanks in advance!

Why say anything to them at all? Why waste more time? Just move onto the next person.

We all have to wade through until we find the gems.

Agrees 100%.  Generally ignoring them will cause them to go away.  If not, there's always the "Block User" button.

Hi LT, I just looked at your "Application."  I'm assuming that's what you meant.

It is a standard interface, essentially the same as Amazon.com, or, um, subscribable adult media.  Only people who never purchase things online would have a hard time with it.

There was a thread here a while back about what percentage of inquiries prodommes turned down, and I think the consensus was about 95%.  Meaning 1 person in 20 was serious, on average.  This was mostly from phone inquiries, I think.

Sounds to me as though most of your guys want to cop a cyberfeel of a real life (gasp) domme.

Thanks for your replies Miss 'Bella and Lady Topaz!

I'm not talking about the blatant time wasters, rude people, etc. The last time a sub wrote Me asking for pics after seeing My site, I told him off and that was that. Haven't heard from him since. But there are also nice subs who just bug the crap out of Me by asking stupid questions, lol. I'm basically just sick of babysitting and telling them how to do simple tasks. I don't want to ignore them altogether. But I probably should, hah.
Gmail really needs to add a "block" button, because as it is, I have to create a filter by typing in their email address and having any future messages sent to the trash... it's a pain in the ass.

I want to be available for subs to talk to to figure out if we're compatible, but I'm frustrated because lately I find Myself spending so much time for very little gain. Oh well.

Again, thanks for your input

Thanks for your response, Red. I meant to tell you that I've noticed you on here, and I do enjoy your contributions!

Also, thanks for taking the time to check out My application. I so needed a second opinion, because I was wondering if I had made it too complicated (yes, I realize that sounds silly. But one should never underestimate the stupidity of other people).

I definitely agree that some (nay, most) are just out for some wank material. And that's precisely what I told the guy who wrote asking for pics. I guess he didn't realize that I could see what pages he went to on My site :P I had no problem telling him off, haha.

But I just don't know what to say to some of these people who write Me (some more than once) saying they just can't figure out how to send in the application. One sub had to do it 3 times: he couldn't figure out how to submit it the first time, then he emailed Me about it before doing it over and copying it into an email instead of submitting it on the site, and then finally had to go back and do it all over again a 3rd time. I don't want to fault people for being computer illiterate, but this is getting out of hand!

I suppose it will be a little better when I move back to Philadelphia and I can meet potential subs face-to-face for an interview. If nothing else, this will probably light a fire under My ass to get going and move back already.

It's easy to weed out the dumbasses.

Just explain how to find your outside email address, and scatter the clues through your profile text. Do it at the BOTTOM of your text. Delete all of the mail here. Only read what makes it to THERE.

 Problem solved!!!!!!

lol, well that's where I was hitting a snag, because I didn't want to tell these people off for wasting My time. They can't help it that they're dumb!

Haha, I love it. I actually used to do the same thing to put My contact info on free networking sites, and very few people ever figured it out. Society worries Me anymore.

Thanks again to all!

I tell you, there is NO solution to people who won't read instructions before they ask a question. I work in a service industry and I get that ALL the time. Once we had rates raised in one of the communities we manage and I had a lot of phone calls about it. One guy called and he was just furious because his bill was higher and wanted to know why. I told him that it was explained in the letter we sent with the bill. He replied "Well, what does it say?" People are lazy and they don't want to work to solve their problems or try to figure out things for themselves, they want others to walk them through it step by step so they don't have to think.

Honestly, it's part of doing business. It might drive you crazy but you'll have to get used to it because they are the customers. At least you might get the opportunity to take it out on them. *g*

The #1 thing that made the change for me to meet women in real-life on CM and Alt was not a change in my personality, but discovering how to eliminate talking to timewasters.  I don't hit on sub men, so the cues may vary for you, but essentially I do the Big Ignore if she

(1) declares her love for me before we meet in person
(2) takes Gor seriously
(3) is not willing to meet for coffee-and-nothing-else within two weeks of our being comfortable talking to each other.

All three are indications that she is more comfortable in an online world than a real one.

Hon, you're young, pretty, and you've chosen your particular field.  There isn't a magic wand big enough to wave and absolve you of your "time wasters".

1. The only way to get rid of timewasters as a Pro is to stay in the business for years, build up your client base to the point where you don't need new guys, and then force new people to jump through hoops to get to you.

2. From one Pro Domme to another: don't waste your time and energy advertising here: I've scrapped my Pro profile. Buy ads on Eros, Domina.Ms, Pandemos, etc.

1) Collarme is a crapshoot as far as advertising here- I'm just here for the forums.

2) The picture guys will never go away. They ask for more pictures in hope of you sending them nekkid pictures. They know exactly what you look like, they are just greasy little wankers.

3) Keep your phone conversations short, and don't answer the "What will you do to me if..." questions. They are again, being greasy little wankers, and it gets FRICKING OBVIOUS... I have no idea why they think they are being sneaky. Don't yell at them if you catch them at it eaither, that's just feeding it.

4) People are idiots. If they can't fill out the application, then make them answer every question in an email and send it to you. This will not cut down on the- "How much for an hour of you sitting naked on my face" questions.. but it might help.

5) I'll second the Eros idea
