I have delt with Tricare Prime, dont know what it is? look it up. It is a moster fuckup that our government beats our Veterans over the head with. LAME!

Tricare Prime is administered by the Department of Defense, not the VA...it replaced CHAMPUS for active duty, dependents and retirees.

Veterans get the multi-tiered access to VA health care.

Both have plenty to criticize.

Your point is? Its all still a bunch of bearuacracy!

Ok, so how do we address the legitimate needs of the uninsured, without putting government in charge of everyone's healthcare?  I think the solution is in changing how our safety net operates.

A year ago, I was one of those 22 or 47 million.  I changed jobs, and had no medical coverage for about five months.  My options were a little better than some, in that I could have visited a local veterans clinic, presented my DD214, and would have been seen by a doctor for free.  Expanding free clinics, and funding neighborhood urgent-cares could go a long way towards taking the stress off our emergency rooms.  Reworking the guidelines to qualify for catastrophic illness coverage would also be a very good step.
