Stupid Newbie Question - 7/9/2008 12:06:26 PM

Status: offline 		Hi.  We are new to CM and had five photos approved for our profile yesterday, but today they are gone.  Is there any way to:

1.  Fix the problem ourselves

2.  Contact someone at CM who can reinstate them

There doesn't seem to be a moderator or help person to contact.  What do we do?

Status: offline 		Are you sure there absolutely gone? Don't mean to be rude, just from experience, I uploaded pics in the past and they have come out as profile pic 10 or 11.

I've noticed there isn't a help email, have you tried re-loading them? And they may have temporarily been approved, then something in them might have conflicted with the site rules, and so removed. But I'd expect a removed mail if that was the case, have you received photo approved! mails?

Status: offline 		If your pictures were approved and you have not received information from CM regarding them be removed, I would guess that there has been a computer glitch.  I have always been notified in both email and on CMail if an image is removed - even months after approval.  If it's a glitch, all you can do is resubmit them.

Yesterday, we had a main profile photo and four other photos, and they showed when I hit "view profile."  Today, they are all gone.  Not sure what happened.  We got the photo "approved" emails yesterday, and nothing since then saying they were not approved.

I guess we will have to go through the whole process once again?

Status: offline 		I would suggest you resubmit but also make sure that you are not violating ANY TOS or Possible Violations as even after approval if there is anything in them that could be construed as a Violation they can be pulled afterward and sometimes no notice is given they are just pulled.

Then again there is the possibility that they just were not uploaded correctly and got lost by the site. Just remember to review the Photo Guidelines under the Help section of the Profile area.

Status: offline 		Remeber they cannot be sexually provocative, even if you are fully clothed. Read up on USC2257. Even that is fuzzy. Give it a couple days and resubmit like one, then more. And if the subsequent ones get bounced, submit a different one.

Of course none of this explains why mine got bounced. I was fuly clothed, not even at home and holding a beer in my hand. I blotted out the name brand, maybe I should blot the whole can out and try again ? Maybe the artwork on the can was too detailed.

Other than that I have no idea.

But really, five pictures should not be necessary. And if they are high resolution, put them on your FTP, there is a limit here.

Just my thoughts, possibilities. I agree try to resubmit them, but I would do it one by one.

I would think that support might be able to help more than a bunch of posters(intelligent that they may be) that cannot see the pictures or the inner workings of the site......but yeah, possible glitch, resubmit, violation of TOS, resubmit...geesh, they might find out the problem and not have to do all that....at least they will be talking to someone that actually might be able to do more than throw a guess in the air ( no offense to any esteemed posters, of course......)

Oh I'm sorry I thought this was a forum. I was responding to a post and giving my thoughts from my experiences.

It is strange that they didn't get notified if the images were removed though.  CM is usually really good about notification, even if it is a standard form mail.

Of course you can post your experiences here - it's all cool.
There is a support button and a help area on the other side also - I noticed you mention you noticed there isn't.  It is also good to remember that CM(profiles) is not CC(forum) and so the moderators and support are all different.

Status: offline 		If CM yanks your main profile photo "Or hasn't approved it yet", all the other ones will stay hidden until the main one is approved. Even though you already received approval emails on the secondary photos, they will still not show up until the main photo does.

There was no offense intended to you....my point was and still is, everyone here is only guessing, Support will actually answer the question and help her for her individual problem. Her experience may be nothing like yours, since you cant actually see the pictures or what happened to them, they are the ones in the best position to help her.  Sorry if you thought I was pissing in your wheaties, but I wasnt.
