greetings, Sirrea

I can relate well to what you have said, and feel. My last relationship ended a little over 9 months ago. To say the least it was very unhealthy and full of drama.
I let go of the past and move on , one day at a time.
looking within, learning to trust yourself and others takes time. I surround myself with things that make me happy.  Daily life reminds me there is much good out there and every day I wake up happy to see the new dawn. When the time is right and I find someone that strikes my fancy, I know the healing time that I have taken will be all I can do to improve myself and open my trust and heart to another.
I know the walls can sometimes be very high at times, but when the right person comes along I am sure he will know how to climb it and remove it brick by brick.

When do You let go the past and move on?

The day after…  if you give a broken relationship more time than you give a dead relative at a funeral, that borders on some unhealthy things like martyrdom, self defeating personality disorder and host of other emotional crap.  I’m not saying to erase them from your mind forever.  Like your dead relative, to pause once in while and think of them or pay tribute is normal.

To obsess to the point you post a thread for help is an indicator you may be overly focused on the past. Go get busy with something constructive and put your energy to good use.  Good luck with all that.

very hard to get over the past I was in an abusive relationship for 4 years first boyfriend kinda like forced slavery and when I fianally left him and found Daddy he said I acted like a puppy that was kicked way to much. I guess I've gotten outta that not sure but its going on 2 years with Daddy and I couldn't be happier. You just gotta find the right person who loves you so much that you just makes your past relationship not matter. You will be gaurded but I don't know if yu'll be aable to change that.

Patience is a virtue Candisa and you will be stronger by staying the course.  I have observed that you are making definite progress and step by step you are becoming one who is ready for something new.  You are like a flowering plant that has gone through a rough season and is about to see a new spring with blossoms full and more beautiful than before.
