If you want to read something truly amazing by him, (and are interested in science fiction) you might pick up one of his last books: "The Dreams Our Stuff is Made On." It's an overview of how the genre influenced the social changes of the 20th century. Sounds dry, but when you start reading, it's as engrossing as any "Potter" book. It's like a "secret history of everything." I met him once at a convention. I'm still trying to line up the man I met (jovial, highly creative) with the man who just passed. I just doesn't seem possible.
