How sad.  A great talent.

Yes. It is sad when a talent goes out of our world.

But we must remember that somewhere there is
someone with a gift that is emerging.

Outlier

Ah that is sad. Sad that a person with talent like that wound up feeling so unhappy at the end, sad that we lost someone with an ability to join words together in the way that he did.

I'm sorry to say I'm not sure I'm familiar with his work (although the toaster sounds familiar...)

Nonetheless, it is sad.. the loss of someone with talent is always a sad thing

If you want to read something truly amazing by him, (and are interested in science fiction) you might pick up one of his last books: "The Dreams Our Stuff is Made On." It's an overview of how the genre influenced the social changes of the 20th century. Sounds dry, but when you start reading, it's as engrossing as any "Potter" book. It's like a "secret history of everything."

I met him once at a convention. I'm still trying to line up the man I met (jovial, highly creative) with the man who just passed. I just doesn't seem possible.
