In the book of Genesis the Devil spoke the truth and God was the liar...
Genesis 3:1-7
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?" The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.'" "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.
So the Devil spoke of truths to Adam and Eve where God told lies. The two were not dead, but they did know the knowledge of God; good and evil, right and wrong. So in the begining the Devil did keep his word in a sense. God had failed his children, he set them up in a situation in which they were bound to fail. They had no knowledge of right and wrong, good and evil before eating the forbidden fruit; so they could not have known that it was wrong to eat the fruit in the first place. God said dont eat this fruit, the Devil said eat it, like toddlers with both parents saying opposet things, they chose the one that sounded most appealing, with no knowledge of what consequences actually were. God set them up to fail, and God was the liar. The Devil might have been slightly deceptive in his reasonings for doing what he did to the two, but all in all he was the truthful one, not God.
As for Lucifer, that name is only meantioned in the bible ONLY once, and has been admited as a mistake by the jewish scholars who translate the texts. Lucifer is actualy pagan, and it means bringer of light. Lucifer was a pagan god, not the Devil.
As for me, Im pagan... So in a sense I think they are both lies and I dont believe in either one, God, nor the Devil LOL!
