I've seen a number of red pandas in person at various zoos and they are the neatest critters. I think it's so neat that momma cat has adopted this baby!

I'm fostering a kitten now and I'm pretty sure my male 1year old cat is trying to be its mama. Unfortunately, I have to mix up his milk replacement so poor max gets left out of the loop. he does notify me when the poor thing is hungry though, by jumping on me and pawing at my face until I pay attention.

I can't wait until we can get a dog, my little fatty cat is not going to appreciate it but he'll certainly get his exercise!

i had a male cat who absolutely loved kittens...my daughter brought home a female burmese who was pregnant...the female wasn't a very good mother & would only hang with the kittens when nursing...Mr. Cat would go take care of them when she wasn't there...i swear if a male cat could have produced milk, he would have been the one to do that...we dubbed him Uncle Fat....

he weighed 18 lbs, but he was really just big, not fat at all

I agree! I've been adopted by six cats...or I've adopted them...or we've decided to throw our lots together. Whatever. Together we're seven 'strays' who seem to have found something very special and wonderful. Cats and rat...who'da thunk it?

my newest kittens have a very open and affectionate nature, i hope that never changes so they end up like the two old ladies of the house, distant and cold until dinner time.  it would be a shame, they call for me and purr so loud when they curl up in my arms.  i'd miss that.

As I sit here, so does KB......if he's not hanging over the monitor, he's trying to make a toy outta something on the computer desk.  Right now it's a little screw......of the hardware variety!  He even hangs with me while my play partner is here....he's seen mom get spanked with just about everything......I've tried to tell him that he's too young to be seeing it, but he just rolls over and goes to sleep.  Typical male.....

And he is a great mom to his little brothers......Boo will actually curl up into him and do the kneading thing on his belly while KB gives him his bath.  He used to make sure both of them got their baths.....even if he had to sit on 'em to give it to them!  But he plays rough...for those of you with kittens and dogs...trust me, when kitty grows up, he will have some seriously strong muscles.....KB used to be able to body slam Shiloh, a 54 lb mutt, into the wall.....usually after Shiloh grabbed him by the head and dragged him around.  You'd think they were killing each other if you didn't know better.  When I had to put Shiloh down, KB looked for him for 2 weeks...wouldn't let any of the other cats in the house sleep on his bed or eat out of his feeder, or drink out of his water feeder.  Boo and Smooch came along, and KB adopted them.  When I drove out to AZ from NY, I started with one cat in a smaller carrier, and the two smaller cats in a bigger carrier, by day 2, it was all 3 in the big carrier.....it was tight, but that's what they wanted.  The one in the little one would reach out his paw to the other two, and cry.....put them all in one, they were perfect little angels!  Should have appreciated it more.....now they are little evil devils!
