Anyone know where salvia can be found for less than the ridiculous prices I've found on most websites?

There's a salvia buyer's club out there somewhere. Siebert is way too expensive. Not that I know anything about it.

I have heard you can grow it and then harvest the fresh leaves.

You can grow it, and it's not hard.  If you'r going to do it, you need to do it soon.  South Carolina is trying to ban it.

I hope you're not smoking it.  I don't know why people waste it like that.  It's not the same as herb.  If you use it like chewing tobacco the effects last longer and it's a lot better.

Apply a ring gag to your submissive, put a bowl under their chin, and wait.

You two get cooler and cooler in my books, the more of your posts I stumble across.  :p

I paid $50 locally for a gram of 20x which is a TERRIBLE price.  Since I haven't used most of it, I haven't had to buy more, but when I want more, I'm not gonna be paying THAT price again!

Online definitely seems the way to go.
I've found it on eBay, and it seems quite cheap, but I have no idea which sellers are good, etc.

You can grow it, and it's not hard.

It's not hard, in that the light, water, and soil combine naturally to create growth, that much is true.  But overall, it's not exactly an easy thing to cultivate.  One problem is availability.  Even though it hasn't been made illegal in most regions (yet?), because it's psychoactive, people are wary about it.  You won't find it in every greenhouse.  Another issue is that it can't be grown from seeds.  You must buy a cutting (clone) because there are only two individual plants in North America (according to wikipedia and other sources).  These two plants (more accurately, the cloned descendants of those two plants) are all we have to grow from.  And lastly, they require specific amounts of light, temperature, etc.  They're not as fussy as some plants, but they're not the type you can leave in a pot for a week and come back hoping to get high.  :p

Which makes it the same as herb, right?  Some people like to smoke it, some people like to eat it.  Oral administration is slower than smoking, as with pretty much all things.

My experience (smoked) was amazing.  I would say it's one of the most intense things I've ever done.  3 or 4 minutes spent conscious but with a brain that functioned in a completely new way.  It was bewildering, shocking, fantastic, exhilliarating, intensely familiar, and eye-opening.  When it was over, I was exactly as I had been a few minutes earlier, except with an experience in my memory that I'll never forget.  Highly recommended for anyone with a bit of adventure in them, which I hope is most of us.  :)  Read up or have someone who has done it before, because there are some things to know.  Like do it with a sober friend watching you the first time.  Do it in a quiet comfortable place, perhaps with some soft instrumental music (ambient, trance, classical, etc) playing.  Dim the lights.  Lie down.  Try what you believe is a small to moderate dose the first time.  If you get little or no effect, big deal, $1 of dried leaves wasted.  At least you didn't do way too much, and spend 20 minutes stroking Barnie's chin in another plane of existence.

Probably only one parent plant. From what I've read, the Blosser and Wasson (IIRC) strains are indistinguishable.

I managed to kill mine, or else they were weakened beyond resuscitation in transit. Beautiful plant, though, with a square stem. That fascinated me. Why would a plant develop a square stem? Maybe to help shamans and diviners to easily identify it in its native habitat.

Oddly, I found fungi ridiculously easy to grow using the PF method. It's very cool, watching them grow. Almost overnight they go from a little bump to full-grown.

San Pedro cactus is pretty easy to grow as well. Cacti in general are pretty easy. I wish I could grow Opuntia reliably here. I love the flavor of Nopalitos - almost like green beans. Hard to get rid of the "slime", though. Okra is similar in that respect. Wandering a bit off course, I am, eh wot?

DA, I didn't know if you were kidding or not......Salvia is the scientific word for sage.  What the OP is referring to is Salvia divinorum otherwise known as Diviner's Sage.  It's a legal herb that's native to Mexico.  Politicians have been recently calling to have it banned in a lot of areas.

I'm sure your experience was amazing to you.  I have done it both ways, and smoking it is not the same.  It's not the same as herb, because the effects are completely different.  Salvia smoking experiences last less than 10 minutes.  It comes on strong, and then it fades away.  Although not needed, thanks for the advice.

Local headshop if you are in a state where its legal. Ask for Salvia Incense... comes in a dark bottle (usually) in different strengths. I'd start low and go up in strength. We liked 5X. I found cheaper prices online though.

Edited to add:

On a side note, you can order baby plants online. However, if one intends smoke it, one should consider that its usually amplified when purchased. Online you can find instructions on how to grow it and bring it from plant form to "concentrate". This would better be left aside unless one has a background in chemistry. Proceed with caution in that endeavor, if you do choose it. Message me on the other side for links on this and etc.

No.

Its just what they call it as a laymans term.

This is not the same as cooking sage that you put in your stuffing or something.

If you're using it to get high, * as some people are saying they use it for* those kind of topics are against terms of service, and will be pulled and get you spanked by mods.
