A follower of Charles Manson who stabbed pregnant actress Sharon Tate to death nearly 40 years ago but is dying of brain cancer in a California prison was denied compassionate release Tuesday.

Does anyone feel that she should be released to live her last days in peace?  Or should she die in jail.  Her victims certainly didn't get any choice in the matter.  I'm a bit amazed at the audacity her lawyers have in arguing for her release.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 7:57:52 AM)

No.
Just...no.
I *do* have compassion for her, but, it would not be right to let her free just because she is ill.
I understand why her lawyers might ask, though.
You never know.

pahunkboy -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 8:08:46 AM)

No.  Brain cancer?  You are kidding- "release" - no way. brain cancer would be even more reason to keep her.

in terms of her not being able to sit up,   people recover.

except for the dead ones.

Tates town needs a crime watch.

jlf1961 -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 8:16:53 AM)

She should not be released.

mistoferin -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 8:27:03 AM)

Life in prison really should mean life in prison. Sha already got nearly 40 more years of life than she would have had if her original sentence would have been carried out. She should not be released.

windchymes -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 8:32:09 AM)

Yeah, it's not like she robbed banks for cash.  What she did to almost full-term pregnant Sharon Tate while she pleaded for the life of her unborn baby is just too heinous for any compassion, IMO.  Sorry.

NeedingMore220 -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 8:50:16 AM)

Interesting everyone.  I was wondering whether there was anyone outside of her family and lawyers who thought she should be released.

urlittleprincess -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 8:54:24 AM)

in my opinion she should stay in prison.  i work in the system...we have released people on compassionate grounds to die with their families etc only to have them live on and on and end up back in prison on new charges!  it is amazing to me how people who are supposed to die soon of various diseases can continue to live on for many years...

PanthersMom -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 8:56:15 AM)

she deserved to die like her victims did, sharon died being stabbed to death, her baby suffocated.  i'd say she's already gotten 40 yrs worth of "compassion" by being allowed to live.  she deserves no more compassion from any of us.  our tax dollars support these people alot longer than they should be allowed to live.

She should not be released.

slvemike4u -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 9:02:56 AM)

No compassion at all...not even a little bit,not for one of the perpetrators of one of the most heinous and senseless acts of gratuitous violence ever recorded....."no longer a reason to keep her in prison"says husband/attorney...well maybe childless Roman Polanski disagrees!!!

Owner59 -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 9:06:02 AM)

Bub-bie.

RIP,...in advance....

Thadius -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 9:06:38 AM)

Maybe she would be a good candidate to sit in prison and have some of the more radical "experimental" treatments tried on her.... Although would that count as animal testing?

Bad idea Thadius,one of those radical"experiments"just might prolong the bitch's life...ahhh with the expected misery attending...okay you sold me

Thadius -> RE: Sharon Tate (7/16/2008 9:40:20 AM)

Exactly, best case scenario she lives and has to suffer being in a cage for another 20 or so years, worst case scenario she suffers a painful death.  Hmm, maybe those are both best case scenarios.

Just sayin.

That insulting, Thad.... to the Animals!  They, at least, kill out of Need rather than out of Greed or Senselessness and Insanity...

As I mentioned earlier we could run all of this past Mr.Polanski and see what he thinks...of course being an international phone call it might mean others are listening...

There are exceptions to all of those in nature... simply look at various reasons for rogue "insert animal".  Although you could be right, animals have alot more uses than she ever will.  I apologize to those tasty critters that provide food, clothing and other benefits.

Isn't he still wanted here in the states? I think him cooperating with legal authorities is highly unlikely.[;)]

She should stay in.
